But even then a bid at full value, may not be successful, if other holders won't sell. They might feel, wait a minute, what about all the other tenements that look promising. Again BBG, anyone is allowed to bid for CGP, with the exception of BHP, why are they not bidding. Plenty of people said, we would be sold at PEA, that they wouldn't want this to go any further and add value. Anyway, we don't have long to wait. Then the argument, will be, no one was going to buy this before DFS. The point I am making, is nothing had changed, if anything, the book is now more diverse, which makes a bid harder. When I see consolidation of shares, I will start to believe a bid is more likely, than production. Why are we the only people, bidding for CGP?

BBG, people said this at PEA, now we are approaching PFS, then we will be saying it at DFS, and who knows we may produce a BFS. But my point is, it makes little difference, as there is always a takeover, that's imminent. I will wait to see some evidence, like one company buying out another's stake. All the best.

Good morning BBG, that's my point, we could get to 4 pounds as reasonable value, but not just yet. If the PFS is 9 billion dollars. ( Don't think that's too far out in either direction ). Then we take 40% of that for a possible fair value, at between 1-2 pounds a share. But that's not full value. 3 pounds is closer to full value, no one will pay it at PFS stage. So what about a hostile takeover. We'll ask yourself this question. Why has it not happened so far. For the same reasons, it won't happen after 15th October .

Guys, I know at the moment there is a lot of activity going on in the background. I have been invested just over 7 years, and every week a deal has been imminent. Sure people could be talking to each other. But BHP can only talk to Solgold. Think a little more on going hostile. I can see no evidence for a hostile bid, with the current book, also if we are successful and acquire CGP, then that scenario is even less likely.

Excellent post Colonel , pretty much my position. They need to pay full price, or close to it. This is not settled, as if PFS is anywhere near, where me and Phattrader believe it will be, then as you say a deal must be struck as a friendly takeover. I also don't believe they will go hostile, for the reasons you have given. So the question remains, will BHP pay full value by NPV. I don't believe they will, but could they have a bigger share. Yes at the right price.

Good morning Iceberg, agree with much of what you said, however I believe JV's are dead in the water. Solgold has ruled them out on many occasions. It is possible, that BHP could get a percentage of Alpala, like FN. I do believe you are correct, this is going to be too big for any one company to own this, once we are on the way to production. If they want to own it, then it's got to be before, the end of 2021. However the question is can Solgold defend a hostile takeover. I believe yes. They could issue more shares at a premium and cut out the main holders, they can bring on more streaming finance. They can widen the shareholder base, we are seeing that happen now. We can take out CGP. Lots of drama left, and after all that, Solgold may still be sold. But not for the price that many are talking about.

Zoros it's pointless, you have no idea what you post, and you are constantly putting down Solgold. You still haven't answered my question, what are these extra 2 billion of extra costs, on the Alpala build that no one knows about. You said they were not production costs. Please provide some evidence, or admit yet another wrong post to basically hammer Solgold.

BHP want this on the cheap, they will not pay full or near to full value, and other stakeholders will not sell out on the cheap. They need to reorganise their portfolio.
