The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Agreed.
Topped up a bit. All those new contracts that weren't RNS'd should get a mention at least in the outlook figures - and the Millingtons have also been topping up a good bit in the meantime. Good cash. I also wonder if the recent driver shortage has meant that companies are looking hard at how to maximise performance and ease for their teams.
PS. and it's interesting who the largest shareholders are: the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Christopher Mills. The former should know what they're doing in this field, and the latter appears to be investing in his own name rather than the investment vehicles he manages: North Atlantic Smaller Companies Trust. I used to hold that, and it's a good trust.
Thank you, Bigears for that informative and helpful analysis.
Great share, and I've done so well out of it, but I needed money (for CNS, which seems to me like CER several years ago and with a vital product for now), and this is very expensive. Still got half. Sir Humphrey called it a "brave decision".
.... and I'm in today.
Sold a load of Cerillion to do it, which Sir Humphrey might call a "brave decision". That's done so well, the only problem is I'm not quite sure why. Here I really can see why: great progress on all fronts, coming into profitability (a nice stage), unlikely to need to raise soon, fallen nicely recently! [Sorry, peeps :)]
And I can't help wondering if they have the product of the moment? The Ukraine conflict - correction, WAR - has been spilling onto the internet, primarily I hear in DDoS attacks. Which are so easy to do.
I'm no accountant, and wouldn't know how to value this, but I do love the charts.
I'm curious about the large and increasing holding by Sabvest. I know nothing of them except they've been around as an investment group in South Africa for over 30 years and have "interests in ten unlisted and three listed investments". Of the 3 listed investments only the one, CNS, is outside SA. Were we just too good to miss? :)
Thanks - that reminded me to top up at Shanta! :)
This is already one of my largest holdings. Does anyone know if they hold Shanta shares?
Government support for rare earths/strategic metals?
Just topped up. Pity I missed the bottom, but this update underlines for me that this is a good level to buy at. SP is over 40% off the year high.
"The strong organic sales growth reported last financial year continued in the first quarter this year1 with underlying earnings of the Group for the Period ahead of the Board's expectations.
Group sales in the Period were 27% ahead of last year at CER2, increasing by 17% organically3 with a similar organic growth profile in both divisions to that reported last financial year.
Orders were stronger than expected and continued to be ahead of sales with a book to bill ratio of 1.09. The order book at 30 June 2022 increased to a new record level of £240m (31 March 2022: £224m), being 40% higher than a year ago organically. As the year progresses, we expect the order book level to begin to normalise as it converts into sales.
Gross margins in the Period continued to be resilient and the semiconductor sourcing issues flagged last year, impacting two of our 21 businesses, have improved although remain tight."
Also very glad to see how they are treating their employees in Sri Lanca's dark times: "One of the Group's 31 production facilities is located in Sri Lanka where, despite the current unrest, our operations remain at expected output levels. We are supporting local employees with cost of living subsidies, food and transportation. Contingency plans are being developed to temporarily move production to other Group facilities if the situation demands it. The site's output accounts for around 6% of Group sales."
Wahaayyy! What a roll.
I’m surprised they are not RNSing these contracts. Any thoughts why?
A small amount buys an awful lot of shares!
If they were going bust I struggle to see them acquiring other companies. And contracts have been coming, more than before.
Also Richard Griffiths is the largest shareholder with 1 billion shares. Rivaldo, whom I pay attention to, says he has quite a following in the City.
Yes, this looks a fantastic product, "adsorbing more than 100 times its own weight of oil-based pollutants" - and you get the oil back! Cheaper than drilling I would guess :)
And it's getting traction. Looks like the North Sea testing has been passed with flying colours, now it's gone to "certain agreed territories". "international oil producing regions with the North Sea being the first". So they've seen it, and they like it. I know nothing of the process or logistics, or capacity, but I would guess supplying the North Sea area would be all they could cope with for the time being anyway. So it's moving forward fast!
And bbluesky, that's quite a figure!!
I'm also interested in "the reduced amount of plastic used in Grafysorber® booms and pillows". I wonder if they enhancing said booms and pillows with graphene? End result stronger, lighter. ...Or just a new design. Anyway, all good.
Just realised this morning how low this has fallen. There are so many shares that have fallen so low against all sense, and so few to take some profits from to make a top up.
But I couldn't resist this, and topped up - again. I'm not a numbers man but the results in Feb from the ongoing operations looked great to me, they're sitting on a growing pile of cash, they look to be profitable, all divisions are moving forward, edgility looks to be really getting its feet under the table, and they were buying their own shares into treasury in the 50's.
Thank you
