Mac - I don't think anyone, even the leaders of the world, truly expected this. We all know that Russia is constantly in a d*ck measuring contest with the rest of the world, but who honestly expected all out war in Eastern Europe in 2022?

To give this context, there was a UN Security Council meeting going on to try and avert conflict, and by the end of the meeting the shelling had already begun.

Crazy. Absolutely, mother******** crazy.

To add to this, due to the volume held the board can't realistically sell their shares without crashing the share price when they try to do so, so the true value of those shares were they to try and sell them on the open market would be far lower. Their way out of this is through dividends. That's the strength of this company.

Someone was asking earlier how much the BoD have lost in share value today.

Dmitry:
At £0.20, his shares were worth £93.1m
At £0.10, his shares are worth £46.5m

Christian:
At £0.20 - £17.9m
At £0.10 - £8.9m

So the BoD will be painfully aware of the importance of protecting the company against any sanctions and of continuing the company business despite the Russian instigated war. There is, of course, every chance they won't be successful in this and as investors that is the risk we take. Losing everything here would be extremely painful for me and it'd take me around two years to re-save the money that I've invested. It's a risk vs reward I'm prepared to take.

CTC - that’s what I’m sort of concerned about, MT was the thing we always assumed was up for sale. If it isn’t, and NKT and WK also have their own pages on the site now which makes it look like we’re developing rather than selling those, what could we be selling? Just Nyud after the JORC and license transfer?

I’m interested as to why Monchetundra has its own new page on the website. Surely if we’re selling, as a minimum, MT and flanks then somebody needn’t have gone to the effort of updating the website with info about a site that won’t be ours much longer?

“War is on” is not only an inaccurate statement but a callous one too and for me pays far too little heed to the human and environmental costs of war, which the planet can ill afford. Yes you may have an investment portfolio that’s suffering right now - myself included (and I have a far larger proportion than is advisable in one company - three guesses which one) - but I have my health.

For now, as others have already said, we can only wait and see what happens. If you aren’t content to ride out this out then you’re going to have to sell up in the morning. Otherwise, sit tight - no point debating it on here on either side, unfortunately your opinions are entirely inconsequential and won’t affect the outcome.

I think we can all agree though, tomorrow at 7am would be a great time for the BoD to drop a JORC…

Final top up for me, a tidy 16000 shares just gone through at a bargain basement price. Good luck all.

My guess, and it is nothing more than a total guess, is somewhere around early - mid April for actual completion of the asset sale(s) and announcement of dividend amount.

Well I’m sure I wasn’t the sole cause of today’s RNS but I like to think every little helps!

Just a quick public service announcement to call out redintothblue's bull****. Joined the board a month ago, first posted here on 26th Jan claiming to be holding over half a million shares since 2017, which would put them somewhere between 3000-5000% in profit on today's prices.

Since then has done nothing but talk the stock down, and now claims to be shorting it and to be part of a consortium to do so.

Would strongly advise ignoring.

As a small private shareholder, I’m writing to enquire about the current Russia / Ukraine tension and how this may or may not be likely to affect the ongoing asset sale process. I’m abundantly aware that you aren’t blind to this situation and so I’m certain this email isn’t necessary but I’d be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t send it.

I also know you’re unable to provide information on the asset sale which isn’t in the public domain already so I’m not looking for specifics, but rather some general reassurance that the sales process is unlikely to be affected by current tensions and/or hypothetical sanctions on Russia by the West. Or, if this is the case, an admission to the market that Eurasia’s position could be affected by it but that the BoD are doing everything possible to mitigate and overcome any problems.

As I say, sure you’re all over this already but I had to just get in touch briefly to mention my concerns.

As positive as the RNS is, and I’m very happy with it, I think we should collectively temper our expectations that a sale RNS or even JORCs are likely to come in the next week or two. If they were, I can’t see that the company would’ve released today’s figures - why not just wait a couple of weeks to release the full set of JORC Code numbers?

I’m very pleased with my investment and will continue to hold, but maybe don’t expect more news immediately. I may well be proved wrong…

Just in case anyone is still in any doubt about how this share price is not related to value and demand, almost every trade in the first hour of the day is showing as a buy, in high volume (over 3m before 9am), and yet the share price is down almost a percent… Frustrating yes, but not going to discourage me.
