Well we’re locked in now! Good news or bad, it’s gonna be an interesting day… Not held this share for as long as some on here - just over a year and a half - but it’s been an interesting ride…

Only passive small cap tracker funds will be selling - had a quick tot up this morning and I reckon it totals just shy of 15m shares at most, roughly equivalent to a day’s volume at the minute.

Other actively managed funds will be free to retain their stakes, and BR holds a further 30m+ shares in these.

The stock exchange has it listed as a Non Price Forming trade, ie it doesn’t contribute to the share price calculation. Possibly therefore a technical trade - a Bed and ISA maybe, or a fund moving shares from one account to another.

Possibly a short closing - will have to see when the figures get updated tomorrow. If so that’d explain the trade being listed as a BENC (benchmark price - average for the day) as it’d take time to buy back all the loaned shares… However I’d expect the trade price to be listed as the same in each line if that were the case.

The LSE has these small double digit trades marked as Protected Portfolio trades. Someone with more knowledge than I might be able to explain better but this is what ADVFN has to say about them:

'P' Protected Portfolio
A protected portfolio transaction or, if reporting a trade resulting from a worked principal agreement for a portfolio transaction. Like a non-protected portfolio, but the price dealt at can be amended if the market maker manages to make a 'good' profit.

Forgive me Kira but for somebody in a comfortable financial situation you seem extremely twitchy over the price of a share you only hold a few of in a SIPP…

Volume today was low compared to the three month average of 41m but higher than your average day prior to Russia deciding to bomb the **** out of Ukraine for no good reason… I personally don’t read too much into the volume - high numbers can mean incoming news but EUA isn’t known for leaks in advance of RNS’ (such as other companies like PREM where the volume pretty much triples in the day or two before an RNS) so it’s not a reliable indicator.

Maybe traders / investors who sold out before the war are just happy piling in a bit again now given Putin didn’t escalate the war yesterday. They also know news is due, to use Eurasia’s terminology, on multiple fronts - and that the AGM should be coming up in the next 6 weeks or so and people are expecting positive news.

Agreed - the timescale and the splitting of license areas into different subsidiaries points to a more complex deal with multiple parties involved for mining, offtake, financing, etc. Looking forward to hearing more at or before the AGM... Sadly I'm not in the UK at the moment so I won't be able to attend but I'm hoping in the age of Covid for a live stream available to investors.

Given it lots of thought, haven't come up with any firm conclusions!

Closest to sensible idea I can come up with (I know other people have also floated this, can't remember who) is that the intention is / was to sell the companies to two consortiums with off take agreements for the different people who want the different metals. Seems to make sense to me given the variety of stuff in the ground... Also fits in with people from Russia, China, Japan and South Africa all being involved in the M&A process.

However whether this has now changed is anybody's guess until we get that long awaited RNS...

He’s just highlighting that Wardell Armstrong referred to something they call “the Transaction” in their NKT CPR released back in December. To be fair, I missed that use of language back when I read the report - but as with anything it isn’t specific as to what transaction they may be referring to. We’d like to assume the ongoing asset sale process, and it still being a thing…

If they bump it up to 8.5 properly they’ll hit my small limit order for 20k shares but as ever, there’s an intransigent reluctance from them to move it too far on a given day!

(Not selling up, just transferring small blocks into the ISA and trying to make a few hundred quid while I’m at it)

CTC - no reason to believe those figures re WK profits aren’t real, they appear on the checko website where Russian companies’ reporting is all listed. It’s a bit of an arse to search for with just the Co. name but searching by company number works.

Frutsels, unfortunately that’s on you for believing hype on social media. Hype doesn’t dictate share price and nobody has inside info as to when an RNS might be released. And if they did, they wouldn’t be publicising it.

Make up your own mind, don’t get your hopes up from hype.

Dealer - I don’t think anyone’s suggesting AGMs and M&A news have to coincide, just that the board are aware that they have to face shareholders at the AGM and require votes to pass whatever resolutions they want or need to, so they need to keep stockholders on side and therefore an update about the asset sale will have to be forthcoming before then. Otherwise, good luck keeping Blackrock on side - let alone us meagre PI’s.

Last year we voted to permit dilution in order to fund the Rosgeo JV, which we already know has added serious value to the company so I'm positive on that.

As Mac says, the AGM is speeding towards us - I've said it before, but I really think the BoD know that they have to provide a substantial update before then. Without it, they're going to be faced with an extremely grumpy room of investors - both private and institutional - and that won't be a comfortable meeting.

My two cents, is that the longer this silence and ambiguity goes on the more I think it's because they're getting close to announcing lots in one go. I was originally under the impression that licensing, JORCs, etc would be released in a drip feed fashion prior to a sale announcement, but for lots of reasons I could see that having changed.

No I’m not, I’m pointing out what happens every time I have a conversation like this with someone who believes these things.

Equally you’re welcome to believe I’m a sheep if you like - I don’t think I’m going to change your mind any more than you’re going to change yours. I just think it must be really exhausting going through life trying to piece together all the Qbits, and to what end?

Icarus - you see this is the problem with conspiracy theorists. When the term was first used was *exactly* the point when you first mentioned it, but now that’s been disproved the conspiracy theorist just moves onto the next thing. “Oh but that doesn’t matter, it’s not the point anyway - look over here at this new thing instead.”
