I would think its just covid causing this type of thing; studios hedging their bets - also could be to prevent a log jam with possibly longer runs necessary to maximise profits on individual releases. I am sure I read Warner Bros distinctly repudiating the idea generally and stating they must look after the exhibitors.
just bought £49.9 grands worth, so we are not alone. Keep the faith lads.
M00La - agreed, good article. When the froth of Tech, Tesla, covid pharma blows over it should be back to re opening plays - makes perfect sense.
As long as you remembered Indepth****s -total bolox to the core.PS night JBS sweet dreams (mate).
£842 to be exact (D'Oh!) - but n n n not worried at all lol - I ignore the drops and love the ups: it was the volatile nature of Cine that drew me so I cant complain when its not in my favour. Next pandemic, if I am here, I will play nice and safe AO world and Just Eat lol.
Hi Mate - I am only in this; not good at trading and swapping around. Turned 40k into 83k during April and May - always intending to settle with four good opening plays.....that was June 9th I think. Not got the temperament/time/inclination for BOO, SNG etc but well done to all who have. Been doing some property stuff in Doncaster where its cheap - flipped one last week; owned it 4 weeks and made 17k; not always that easy but I like getting my hands dirty and am bored stiff since selling my business 2 years ago. In this for £800 per penny which is either insane or not - we shall see; if I lose the lot it wont affect my life, if it goes good as I obv think it will - it will enhance my kids lives. Always been crazy with risks - adrenaline brings me to life. Anyways - each to their own.
You know me mate -always looking - and sometimes understanding what I find lol. 20,000,000 extra shares went somewhere yesterday. Two thoughts: shorts closing, brothers buying. A TR1 from Global would be good eh lol. Keep the faith.
Slight reduction on shorts I think. Also, yesterday volume (but not buy/sell total on here which showed 12 mill I think) was 34 million - highest volume since 28th May. More shorts closing but yet to report maybe. Above my pay grade but just putting it there. Cheers.
Check out 'Proxima' on cine/Picturehouse - from 31st July. Repeated post as I have the tw at on filter and his long 8 Billion posts might have drowned this out.
It looks to me, although unable to book yet, that 'Proxima' will be on at Cine/Picturehouse on 31st July - look into it (?). Cheers.
Just for information: AMC website currently showing: 'Welcome back! Most of our cinemas will re open on 30/7/2020'.
Some interesting snippets in this article from Deadline FYI.(truncated from larger article but pertinent point are here).
What does Warner Bros. mean by unconventional? Essentially, with theaters reopening in China, Asian markets like South Korea vibrant, and other offshore territories in Europe and Japan coming back on line, there is a good probability that the Christopher Nolan movie will open abroad first. In regards to the U.S., where drive-ins are dominating the business and just over 1,000 of the nation’s 5,000 theaters are open, Tenet is poised to play wherever and whenever it can — even if New York City and Los Angeles aren’t back on line.
Warner Bros. is looking forward to a long theatrical tail on Tenet as Nolan is a champion of the big screen, and I understand there aren’t any plans to collapse the window, i.e. making the John David Washington movie available in homes shortly (either on HBO Max or PVOD) after a brief theatrical debut.
The studio is expecting to draw two-thirds of the film’s box office from overseas, so a theatrical play is at the top of their mindset. Above all, Warner Bros isn’t turning its back on exhibition.
Closed in Israel only -the whole of Eastern Europe open I think (?) - nearly just booked Scoobie Doo in Warsaw.
Apparently its only relatively recently that global release took off - after Jaws I think. Well, recently to me. Anyways - enjoyable to read the views and info tonight so thanks nearly all. My synopsis - we closed and the price collapsed - now nearer than ever to the endgame with more positives than usual. Maybe 6 weeks and the USA will be ready - 6 weeks ago our daily deaths :357 which equates to 1,673 on US pop - a lot can happen virus wise in a short space of time. And our world class scientists in Oxford will, in my opinion and rightly so, get the Nobel prize. Night.
Sussing out the competition eh JBS - at least the Ben & Jerrys is decent value at Cine; £8 your son charged me the other night at yours and I didnt enjoy your fuzzy screening of Tenet with the Korean subtitles either.
Another passive/aggressive on board. Subtle - not.
Not mad mate, just unhinged - me too. I know I shouldnt, before I am told, but I love Cineworld - Stockholm Syndrome I reckon.
Hi Damo - to my mind this is really great news. Proper film slate hopefully from 31st with many screens in one multi showing the films to (I think Mooky said) make proper opening weekend box office type takings - albeit over a possibly longer period. 30% ish of retail comes from UK/Europe/Israel so it could be good enough to close the shorts. Maybe I am delusional but I will get 12,400 more when Warners confirm - I prefer round figures. Your views please?
Lets hope Mulan et all follow suit.
As Hollywood grapples with a new normal, the Warner Bros. tentpole is no longer expected to get a conventional release and is likely to launch first in overseas markets. Warners will announce their new plan over the coming days. (Hollywood Reporter)
We said it had to happen, Personally I think this is much better news, if/when confirmed, than we could have hoped for given the other myriad circumstances. Much better than waiting for the USA to have a coast to coast recovery sometime in the future.
