Cheers Falkland - I read your post at the time and hoped you were right - and you was! More tomorrow.
Forgot to add: trade flags shown on this trade on the Stock Exchange website. Also actual amount was £3, 249,046 or something. Anyways - maybe an RNS to confirm shortly.
I think it was a buy, at the price quoted, from earlier in the day - thats what pushed us straight up. Look at the trade flags associated with the trade - LRGS = Publication mode/post trade deferral / Pric = negotiated trade waiver conditions.
"Publication mode/post trade deferral" - Publication of trade deferred until later. Just because it states 16.40 means nothing except reported then. Unless it means the city boy who put the trade through was a LRG PRIC which could equally be true lol. A definite buy in my opinion.
Also noticed a short opened 2 days ago: 0.54%. Very unusual for this share according to historic short data. See Short Tracker site. Temporary position to try to hold the price down during the current company situation ?
Anyways - holding 120,534 so onwards and upwards I feel.
Tenet - Variety.com - now.
Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic “Tenet” arrived in U.S. theaters with $20.2 million over Labor Day weekend. The movie is already nearing the $150 million mark globally, thanks to a stronger showing at the international box office.
Overseas, “Tenet” earned another $78.3 million this weekend, bringing its worldwide haul to $146.2 million.
My response was to Selecta who said I had probably missed any cut off date by not holding when the news hit - read the dialogue. As I said, I will buy more anyway should the price dip sufficiently so at the moment its a moot point. CHEERS!!!
Cheers Selecta6 - I was concerned about possibly missing the cut off date, will be a shame if I have. If we drop before the announcement I will just buy some more but I cant see it myself.
Hi Noggers - sold in tranches - 3 or 4 from memory over the course of the morning - Barclays Smart Investor site. Just kept trying when the site told me to try again/edit trade (which it does almost constantly with some shares not just cine, dependent on amount/time of day etc). Lots of trading sites about obviously but I have been on there for years - it was a much better site before being rebranded/ reorganised. I even remember they let you play with their money too back in the day - like, if you had 50k in you could buy 75k of shares - seems crazy now I look back on it! - recipe for disaster).Cheers.
Hi mate - I got so sick of the manipulation in Cine - when Jangho started selling I couldnt believe: literally couldnt speak. Got out totally after having been, possibly, the longest holder. I had well over 100,000 shares there. Now diversified a bit but bought back in Cine with 40,000 yesterday @ 58 and will sell them again at profit/if necessary - If Mooky can protect his kids inheritance, I better do the same lol.
Thanks for your reply Alas_Smith; always good to read all information and resulting views - balanced opinions are always better than just an echo chamber of praise. Cheers.
New here, bought in yesterday: 12,596 @ 1.19 inclusive. I read the last update and was struck by the good % figures in most areas - also struck by how diverse the company is. Compared to most companies whose lockdown effect was often 100% down, this report read very well to me although I am aware of all ongoing macro challenges. A good, well regarded, CEO appointment soon would obviously greatly enhance the sp and expectations - lets hope a high quality and very ambitious candidate is announced forthwith.
Hi - new to this share having bought in yesterday; 120,534 @ 16.6 average. Took notice when the old owner news was released then confirmed. Presuming I qualify, date wise, and will buy full allocation. I should imagine that " Completed an in-depth strategy review, with conclusions and reshaped plans to be published alongside the interim results and launch of the Proposed Equity Raise on or around 10 September" will be good, strong, forward looking news and will, in itself, raise sp and expectations - thus making the 15p very attractive. I would also guess that the take up is already a done deal. The rejected 33p is also a stimulus although the strings attached are unknown. All in all with the macro environment generally increasing, certainly compared to the last few months, and the recent (hopefully ongoing) USA tech re adjustment which most heavyweight pundits see pointing towards big money slanting towards re opening stocks in Europe which is seen as still having more upward potential, I see this company as having very good potential in short, medium and long term. Anyways - just my opinion, on which my investment is based - thanks also to the people posting informed company info which is always helpful.
Not going to watch today - first time in months: its pointless, like watching two accountants arguing over what to do with my money. Ultimately they will finish manipulating the sp and it will rise as it, inevitably, will. At the moment it has lost touch with all reality - Ftse, Dow, covid, cinema takings and prospects - nothing affects it except the agendas of the big players.
"AMC plans to open 140 more theaters this week, stock pops 12%"
(Meanwhile, in the UK, Cineworld pops 9% and shareholders then robbed of gains, sp walked down a further 5%, and price totally flatlines for 5 hours although volume 4th highest ever). We should list on the Nigerian bourse to lessen the corruption. Makes me sick.
Also - educated guess. 3.57% of Cineworld changed hands today - I reckon 2% of that was dodgy - Citadel closed shorts every market day for the last 4 days - I guess 1% went to, possibly, Jangho and 1% went to short closures. I may be insane though, also educated guess. Crazy share this - snakes and ladders on speed. Night everybody.
Obviously good news for us too - read the full articles on Deadline.com. Seems to also add lots more openings post labor day weekend - and (I think) acknowledges the fact that New Jersey will be open so New Yorkers can drive through the tunnel - have a read if interested. Basically whats good for AMC is good for us as I doubt punters will drive past us to get to them.
Probably this - just breaking:
AMC Theatres To Have 70% Of Circuit Open For ‘Tenet’ This Weekend Including San Diego Market
This just in. AMC will have 70% of its circuit open this weekend, counting 420 locations. This includes San Diego, CA following the state Governor Newsom’s reopening provisions last Friday. In total, 140 additional AMC theaters will reopen this weekend. Distribution sources tell me that San Francisco, CA will likely…
Course it was Tenet - the 'we will' didnt mean 'Mooky/Cine will have good news'' it meant Mooky, us, AMC, filmgoers and investors everywhere' will have good news. To be honest, some people expect him to RNS daily popcorn sales just to keep them happy. Leave it to him - he has more experience and more skin in the game than us.
I take that, literally, to refer to Warners Tenet figures. We will have very good news - him included. Warner was touting the figures would be released from last Friday stating Sunday - which is what happened. Mooky is pretty much all over the media lately stating his views and thats enough for me.
Its all delayed - probably more shorts reduced today also; they have until 3pm the day after it happens to calculate new % and report it. (I think - see FCA short notification rules)
