I think we should bear in mind that GH sees 3DiP surveys as just a means to produce more accurate drill locations right now. It's probably unlikely they would invest extra time and money turning the data into 3D models at this stage. However, if we get multiple good drill results from Havieron, Black Hills, and Scallywag, things could change rapidly. Next year could be truly amazing for Greatland.

Investor1111, this is caused by people who dabble with AIM shares and do not know enough to form their own opinion about the companies they invest in. They are buying without any understanding of what they are buying - simple. In addition, they have no idea if Havieron is promising or not, so when they see another person buying large amounts, it gives them confidence. Sheep.

It's unlikely that SB would buy small amounts like that. It is more likely that he has bought 37 mil or so and requested deferred publication under MiFID rules. That would bring his total holding to around 200 mil.

Saints, I have to disagree with your comment about a tie up being the only catalyst for a significantly higher sp. We are only at the very beginning of the Paterson exploration with very positive signs, but that's all it is so far. If the region starts to reveal what we suspect is there, it will lift the sp. For example, if Havieron returns more high grade results in multiple zones and Black Hills drilling reveals high grade gold over a wide area or at depth, then that is the evidence that investors need. It will be a different ball game entirely. But yes, a good deal made with a major or mid-tier will be yet another level again - I emphasise a good deal because not all JV's are good for junior explorers long term. If you look at the deal IMO just made, you can see how they had few options - what else could a junior in the middle of the Columbian forest and no other assets do? They did what they could with what they have. OMI started from a position of weakness, and the market cap tells the story. This is what Newmont would consider low hanging fruit. GGP is a whole different animal, as you will soon see.

mapp, if there are all these short positions on GGP then it won't be long before they are forced to start buying again - that will mean a very powerful rally when it comes.

Excellent post sicilian. The problem is many people buying on AIM do very little research, and therefore don't understand the broader picture. Then coupled with impatience, causing them to jump ship, they have multiplied their risk exposure many times. Patience and research are key.

The Ernest Giles project needs to be viewed with a proper perspective, with regard to how other greenstone projects unfolded over many years. GGP has identified many potential targets and areas with surface gold traces. Some show quite high measurements and some show lower figures over large areas. At this point, GGP is working to understand the geology and how to find higher grades. Only a few areas have been drilled, but the area is vast. It should not be a surprise that grades are low at this stage. We just haven't found the sweet spots yet. For example, there is nothing wrong with the grades at the northern part of the original Meadows drill site at 1.5 g/t - it's just that we haven't found enough of them yet. Of course GH is pleased with EG, because there is still huge potential in the area. All we need is something similar to the Yamarna license owned by Gold Road Resources. Look at the progress of Yamarna over the last 4 years or so - they did not hit high grades as soon as they set foot on the place, and note the size of that area. At this stage we just don't know what we have, but I am confident that persistence will pay off eventually.

I mostly agree with that Professor, but I think GGP needs to find more innovative and cost effective ways to locate any deposits, rather than just rely on surface footprints and drill there. Maybe worth selective 3DIP surveys surrounding the anomalies, along with other analysis of the geology. Not easy though, and needs time. One of the difficulties is that the majors seem unwilling to embark on speculative early stage exploration these days, but this was not always the case. So finding a jv partner for EG seems unlikely at this stage. The good thing about GGP is that they have a diversified portfolio of projects, which is one reason I am invested. Looking forward to further developments at Paterson.

It probably will be on hold for a while. About a month ago GH said investors should focus on Havieron and BH, and I'm sure that's where most of his efforts will be directed for a good while. However, they should still do low cost exploration on EG in the background when time and money allow it. Success in the Paterson region may well help that to happen.

I think GH should do a video explaining how exploration on greenstone geology works, because it's very clear the many don't get exploration at all. They seem to think that the deposits are always directly below the first surface mineralisation encountered, otherwise there is no gold anywhere in the area. It must be difficult to keep the "I want it now" culture happy. Just like dealing with babies, really.

With respect, Newmont should have known better than to rely on it's sensing tech alone. Those large areas of mineralisation do not just appear from nowhere - there must be a source nearby. Could even be up to a kilometer away from the surface anomalies. I think GH is right in thinking that EG has potential to host several 5 moz deposits. The problem is they are hard to locate.

JohnnyB.Goode, so where do you suppose these traces of gold spread over such a large area came from? Dropped from the sky? There's a source of that gold somewhere. Did you not see my post about the Tropicana discovery?

Although some posters often acknowledge that exploration is a process, few understand that discoveries are often made after a long series of exploration campaigns. In fact, sometimes a gold resource is eventually found offset by some distance from the original soil anomalies and surface footprint.
