Long term vision14 Apr 2019 11:14
If anyone cared to view share price action over a longer time period they would observe that each low point is higher than the last. There are many reasons for people selling, but I would say the main one is only focusing on the most recent activity. Investing over many years requires absolute confidence in the future of the company, and most people just cannot do it - the human instinct defaults to the need for quick returns. Trading or investing is all about doing the opposite to our normal impulse, that's why we should buy when everyone else has sold or given up.
If we really understand the level of activity building in the Paterson region and the relative position GGP has there, it's quite easy to see much to be positive about. Gold and copper demand will only get stronger in the years to come, and Newcrest need the recent investment strategy to work in order to provide continuity after Telfer runs out.
I have never sold a single GGP share after buying at an average of 0.26p, and I am not likely to for a good few years. Nobody was interested in GGP back then, but when GH was appointed and Paterson licenses where being acquired I knew this was a strong investment case.
