Honestly, I have no issue with it I just don't understand constantly talking down something you have a lot invested in. I have seen it in other shares too though and I can only think of it as some kind of "coping mechanism" when things haven't gone quite as well as you hoped.

I thought this would have been taken out years ago, but maybe the wait will be worth it in the end. Metal prices are finally rerating to catch up with printing/inflation so what we have in the ground is going to ultimately be valued properly. I still have zero doubts that will get a handsome payout.

They're excellent for the USA, as well as brining in more government revenue they level the playing field so that goods can be made in America rather just in China were child labour and sweatshops give them an unfair advantage.

China can threaten to withhold what it wants by some distance the US is its biggest export customer. What does the Chinese economy look like without them? It would crater overnight. Refusing to supply rare Earth and even critical metals...bring it on. USA added Copper to the latter recently and Solgold has a massive amount of Gold and Copper up for grabs.

I didn't say evict British people who won't work, I said force their hand to go to work by putting a deadline on any handouts. The Dutch do this very successfully, their benefits are more generous but taper down over time to nothing so you get the help you need while you get back to work. That is what our benefits system was initially intended for too, short term aid between jobs. It was never meant to be a lifetime choice.

With all our own dross back to work in the menial jobs, we don't need the rest of the world's dross to come and do that work. Simple.

We don't need them to be skilled. Skilled work is done by doctors not by nurses. In fact back in the good old days Nursing was actually a vocational career path. People nursed because they cared about people, not for pay. The money was awful back then but the care was better.

If they can teach robots to walk and perform basic tasks then AI could completely replace nurses given that they are mostly hearltess, non English-speaking mercenaries these days anyway

Without millions of unskilled immigrants, we wouldn't need as many doctors, nurses and teachers. It's that simple. Take Nursing for example, an unskilled job (basically dishing out pills and wiping backsides) for 40 grand a year + 20% pension. No wonder they want to flock here to do it, they'd never get that kind of wedge in Sub-Saharan Africa.

My calculation is what the government spends per head versus what each head contributes. It's that simple.

The way to solve the immigration issue is to get tough on benefits. Get the lazy dross addicted to handouts doing the fruit picking and deliveroo driving. And you do that by time limiting their handouts.

I have, the state pension payouts are including in Government spending which comes to over £16k per person here. Obviously pensioners are mostly not contributing towards that although some do pay tax on their private pensioners. If you tie this in with the well known fact that the top 10% of earners (around three million people) pay 60% of all taxes then you begin to see the issue.

Far too few people are subsidising far too many. We're broken, it's not sustainable. If your bath tub is overflowing the very first thing you do is turn off the taps - yet ours are on full blast with more immigrants gushing in by the day.
