The problem is that the pin the price of renewables to peak gas. They don't have to do this of course, we could have any energy pricing model we choose to have because we are a sovereign nation. But you already know the reason they tie these CFDs to peak gas....because otherwise the wind and solar would not be viable.

What we should do is open coal and gas power stations and use those as we ramp up our Nuclear assets.

It isn't the market cap that causes the large spread it's the share price and tick size. At 0.2p and 0.01 ticks that 5% per tick at a minimum. A few ticks either way looks like a massive swing.

Market cap is share price multiplied by shares in issue. It is the share price being so low that leads to these swings. Traders must consistently beat a 10%+ spread to make anything
