The reason I believe this is that funds and institutional buyers tend to record their positions using closing prices. One way to guarantee your purchases or sells are totally in synch with those closing prices is to execute them during the closing auction. Trading in dribs and drabs would mean using a volume weighted average figure rather than the closing price which is simply how these funds and institutions prefer to operate.

So it looks as though institutional buying has returned to the stock. Good news for the immediate future, geopolitics notwithstanding.

Well I don't buy into all the BS anyway, I didn't fall for the Covid scam (mass compliance test for digital ID), nor have I fallen for this climate tosh.
