WTI up $5 in weekend trading. That'll see Brent at $92 on opening. Some talk here that futures are pricing in a short term spike. Well, not last time I looked. In fact, the weighted average from now until end of December this year is $82.91/Barrel, and set to be rise significantly everyday that this goes on.

Kuwait not completely shut yet. Storage filling up. Nowhere to send it. If this isn't resolved quickly, the question is WHEN Brent gets to $150, not IF.

re the energyvoice.com comment.....they don't "know" anymore than the rest of us. After all, Reeves hasn't actually had the meeting with the NS leaders yet ! It was one of her opening remarks in the spring statement. Why make the remark if she doesn't follow through with something ? Why raise hope of something ? My guess would be a relaxation of new licences. Just a guess, but I hope it's much more than that.

POO - The probability of a USA attack on Iran was already priced in. If it's another "Midnight Hammer" job with only a symbolic retaliation from Iran I would expect Brent to ease a bit next week. Significant retaliation from Iran and a sustained campaign from the USA I'd see it heading toward $100 PDQ. The Iranians export most (90%) of their oil to China through the straight of Hormoz, and given that they don't have any bypass capacity, they ain't gonna block it ! Saying that, they are a bunch of nutters so you never know.

EPL - no chance of scrapping it anytime soon IMO. That old bag Rachel Reeves desperately needs the £££. She might announce an early end (2030 to 2028 ?) in the spring statement, so that she can continue to collect the dosh and (hopefully) encourage investment. Have your cake and eat it !

I've been invested in ENQ since 2016 and never sold any shares. Just wish I'd bought more in the 10's ! Very confident in Amjad and the companys prospects going forward.

We've been grossly undervalued for years, and we still are ! But looking at that volume, there is definately something going on. I'm hoping it's not a bid, as that's highly unlikely to properly value Enquest. Hopefully, some sort of transformational deal in the North Sea, where those massive tax losses can be utilised. We shall see....

Nice to see the Senior debt refinanced wll ahead of time, and increased, if needed. But no mention of interest rate(s) ? Anyone know what the existing RBL rates are ?

What a turn of events ! The so called 'underdogs' have just delivered outstanding financial results and a maiden dividend to boot. While the so-called "stronger side" is dealing with infrastructure issues. We don't "need" this deal, but I sense the takeover dynamics have changed, big time !

We won't be accepting anything, we will be making the offer. Impossible to say how good a deal this is for ENQ until the terms of the offer are published, assuming of course that an is offer made.

AB has got more invested in ENQ than this entire board put together, by a huge factor, and ENQ is his baby. This cannot be said for Chris Cox.

There was some talk about ML being limited to buying no more than 10% of the daily volume, so I looked into it further to see what they actually bought.

Since 29/4/24 total bought 11,666,400, total volume 129,818,776 = 9%

But they exceeded the 10% "rule" 16 times out of 34 purchase days, I'll post a few:

11/6/24 bought 31% of volume

12/6/24 bought 17% of volume

20/6/24 (yesterday) bought 23% of volume

All the above easily verifiable with a couple of clicks.

It tells me they aren't restricted to 10% of the volume at all ! The ML agreement expires a week today, maybe they will switch broker ?
