Now I really like that. I agree it's a novel idea and perhaps the long term holders would be ok with that sort of arrangement.

I should have added:

Could the structure work if the JV partner was given a controlling interest of 50.1% in say a NEWCO- so in essence the operating companies become their subsidiaries and we retain an associate stake of 49.9% in the NEWCO. The JV partner is resident in a country where the sanctions do not bite.

Instead of trying to sell the companies outright, why can't POG try to bring in a Joint Venture Partner who say buys a non- controlling 49% interest at a slight discount to the fair market price. The funds are deposited in a bank account which enables, without restriction, the repayment of the sums owed to the creditors. This would possibly buy time and solve near term issues.
