People may throw a lot of possibilities BUT my simple answer to all this is that Putin is not going to allow any Russian company in this sort of situation to go under when people's lives are at stake.

This has all the hallmarks of a JV type of structure being formed in the background and if that is the way forward then this will take a good few weeks before being announced . If UMMC takes a stake as a JV Partner then fantastic news for POG. The re-rating will be massive.

You just need to look at the fundamentals and compare with a company which is not subject to sanctions. The BOD must be trying to find workable solutions and when it is found......you know.

Remember these are not normal times in Russia. Under normal times if a companies were in distress they would get sold at marked down values.

Under current circumstances Putin will not allow either rich individuals or other organisations to take advantage on other companies in distress. If this was allowed then POG would have been gobbled up by now.

The name of the game would be in first instance find all possible avenues to get round the current position the companies are in which is not their making.

If an acquisition has to be made then in my opinion it will BE FORCED at a near market value of the resources POG has and we all what that is.

POG is very much in a unique position.

From the UK side, we just got lucky that POG did not fall within the Sanctions definition.

From the Russian side, they would not want to hurt their own and from I can see from the article, I can't see any of it is going to affect POG.
