I was posting more in response to a few posts suggesting Malta as a next destination.
Clearly there was either a data error or some mischievous posting.
Rather than call someone out on what certainly greenhornet later rechecked and corrected I simply posted a few facts and let people draw their own conclusions.

Oddly greenhornet was not the only poster to report Malta as a next destination so it would suggest source information for some posters could be incorrect.

It was more a challenge to Malta as a destination.
I don't expect the ice max to be running at much more than 6 - 8 knots. (Thanks CoMan) giving around 24 days to the Bahamas at 6 knots. Or 18 days at 8 knots.

But those timeframes to Malta? I think it unlikely that the Malta destination is correct, and if it is correct and the planned arrival date is correct then the next RNS would be bad news for the icemax.

EIA.

I would expect a supplemental EIA for any future exploitation drill. Why have a production based EIA before understanding the viability of the site.

Did you apply for an HGV licence before learning to drive a car?
Do you put your coat hat gloves and scarf on before getting in the shower every morning?

Everything has an order and a sequence.

IF the site is viable then and only then would a robust production based EIA be required.

But thank you for your concerns. As a shareholder I would expect and voice my expectations to the BPC leadership team that when we get to consider production wells we should be looking to implement best in class EIA principles in the same way as we have with our exploration EIA.

I would have concerns if it was taking that long to get from the Canary islands to Malta.
At 6 knots that would be 2 weeks (give or take half a day)

Looks like it is you and me in the cheapseats for the linton challenge. I went 4.2 (eternal optimist I know.)
Expectation of BPC disappointment dragged my estimate down.
Confirmation the well would be capped didn't change my view. (I had expected similar on the basis BPC may have funded the exploration but they are a good chunk of change away from production.

Now, if the well result is positive the SP could go anywhere and I don't even want to join the sweepstakes on that number.

Equally if they get to court and it gets laughed out, what happens to the SP?
If they drill and find mid to upper reservoir estimates what happens to SP?

Depends how old you are and if you remember a time when there was a difference between a US billion and a UK billion.

Does it matter? Once it was posted to the BB it was in the public domain. It could for all anyone knows have been read before anyone took up the invitation to share it.

Furthermore if you feel one external voice can influence the direction of events you may as well start posting on the BP. Board that their SP will double in the next week.

We are where we are, the progress towards a drill continues unless we hear evidence to the contrary. Collectively I am sure we would all like daily BPC briefings but that is not how they conduct their business.

Sometimes using Google to search for terms you are not aware of can be dangerous.
Example.
Do not use Google to search for information from a work computer on anything related to "tight hole drilling" some of those images and several of the videos cannot be unseen.
The good news is you can save the direct web extension.
Again probably better not on a work pc.

(I bet at least 1 person reads this and does the exact search)

BPC backstory reads like a tv talent show contestant. Voice of an angel but with a troubled childhood.
Could easily win the competition and go on to do stadium tours and Vegas residencies. But just as likely to end up in rehab or behind bars.
Hopefully it makes it past the 27 year curse.
