In the UK, DISRUPTIVE NANOTECHNOLOGY Ltd have made £20 million so far as commission for having negotiated the beaurocracy to get the contract!
There is loads of info out there already, everyone knows already but it still hasn't created so much as a ripple. UK manufacturers, bar Surescreen, are still waiting for UK approval for home use and have been for ages. This is such a scandal but nothing happening

Lots of posts going on on ABDX " The largest capacity lft producer in Europe" referred to by Boris. According to poster, Pumpky, Surescreen can produce 14 million and are approved. Also other tests approved for professional use will I guess make up the 15%

My view is the questions weren't detailed enough. Maybe something along the lines of " the UK has the largest lft production facility in Europe and many companies who have risen to the government cry to rally, so why is it that these same companies are stopped in their tracks , re Uk supply, due to excessive delay in the approval process while Chinese supplies, £x billions, which have been shown in "real life use' to be unreliable have continued to be supplied"

Pumpky said Surescreen 14 million but I don't know about any other manufacturer. If you go from zero to present position then the statement is cleverly true I think!

We know what is going on, stalled approvals. It is really encouraging to hear so many MP'S raising the UK manufacture issue.

I think China might question that statement but if it were true why the hell are we not buying from this UK manufacturing centre!!???

Live in Parliament just now, in reply to a question regarding lft shortages, Boris said we are testing more than another country in Europe and there are supplies and we have some great UK manufacturers!

Itswhatever: The Govn asked, Omega said no, the dispute will be legally talked about and maybe court. Similar, Abingdon and Omega in dispute with DHsc over £9.3 mill payment for tests and the case is going to court.
So, to sum up, Omega have nothing to currently worry about re payment and should, hopefully be focusing on sales, approval et al of lft's.
You may only be asking but real negativity and domineering which is not valid or relevant. A side note: WE, I guess, will not/have not been privy to the actual contract details.

Pumpky: As you know where Thurston is you will be as amazed as I am that so much lft/minister and vial production should all be in such close proximity. I know with the Internet etc one can be anywhere but seems VERY coincidental!

Itiswhat: Just because Dhsc say they would like money back doesn't mean anything other than intent. Does it really matter what the volume range was? Nothing was ordered, machine lent and payment given! Yes, it did send sp up, yes Directors made but so did many PI's, that's share trading. Would have been great if DHsc ordered and machines were running flat out.......but dhsc renaged. Covid still here, machines stillbirth Omega and demand for lft's never been higher globally.......

Odx position, following legal advice, is they do not owe the Government anything. The Government may actually be liable for charges relating to their equipment being stored by Odx.
Similarly, Abingdon Health are owed £9.3 million by the DHSC and Omega are due a payment fro that!!
BTW, it was not Omega who renaged on the contract but rather the Dhsc who did not tell Omega which lft to produce. Omega expanded, added machinery and set up workforce!
Unlike Innova and flowflex, who supply under emergency authorisation until Feb,all other lft's have had to go through shifting levels and standards of approval and even though omega and Abingdon have various European approvals or for professional use home use approval is STILL dragging on and on and on and on........
Meanwhile, Innova and Flowflex which DO NOT meet standards (FDA in American dumped both and told people to put in bin)
Cotinue to supply and take £ billions which could, if someone pulled their finger out or others were stopped in taking brown envolopes, go into the UK economy and not handsomely feed Middle men, American and Chinese companies. As covid will be probably be with us for a long time and maybe seasonally like flu forever, doesn't it make sense to support UK diagnostics and build now for the future.

HL said it can take up to two weeks for refund !! To vent my spleen I said I was buying shares, not giving them a free loan. If I wish to buy shares I must have money in the account, no credit or BNPL from HL.
I know, wasting my time, again. Like MANY financial things it's one rule for THEM and another for us!!!

I know Thurston and that area really well. If I were to say its quite rural, little villages and countryside I hope you can see the view. Matt Han****, ex minister for health, lives very close to Thuston and an ex neighbour of his who used to run the pub, Alex Bourne, has a company call Hinpack who just happened to win a supply contract for producing vials for lft's !!!!!!
I have asked a friend who lives very close if he can smell anything over there!!!!

In the article you refer to they talk about high Cooper or silver content stainless steel. Interesting read but I'm sure your not suggesting making a filter from solid copper and stainless!!!! Phew, we might still have a product.
