Is it only us, investors, who know where you COULD get loads of UK lfts? It does make you wonder what the hell.......!!!!!!

She obviously didn't say how, which lft or where they were coming from!!!!!
Do I believe her.....?????? She also went on to say about getting another million disable people into jobs!!!!!
Something I can't understand is how we are getting news articles about lft supplies and yet not one article mentions what has happened to ABDX, ODX, AVA, the expired contracts, the equipment sat there, the unpaid bills or the dhsc being taken to court for payment!!
Hopefully the government/PHE/Dhsc will be true to their much hyped " backing UK tech and supply" and FINALLY come to their sense and issue approvals and orders.......I think pro forma invoices should be given to the govnment!!
Radio4 :- As pharmacies report patchy supplies of lateral flow tests, the work and pensions minister says people should "persevere" in their efforts to get them.

Chloe Smith tells BBC Breakfast there is a spike in demand for lateral flow tests because people are being sensible and cautious around Christmas and New Year.

"What we've done in response to that then is double the delivery capacity - so we've taken action to make sure that people can get testing kits delivered to them at home. An additional method to that, of course, is going to a pharmacy," she says.

"What I would say is to please persevere with either making use of your friendly local pharmacy or using the delivery method on the Gov.uk website."

She says stock is being replenished behind the scenes and deliveries are being made to pharmacies

"The next milestone is approval by the Department of Health and Social Care, however, no assured timeline is provided on how long the review under CTDA regulations will take, given a current backlog in their reviews. We have confidence in our data and the application is another positive step that allows us now to progress UK focused commercial discussions."

The "timelines" are the rub! It seems most UK produced tests, excl Avcata approved yesterday, take an eon to get approval.
Look around d, many good lft products, Odx and ABI READY TO PRODUCT and dhsc go for Chinese or makes everyone wait for approval.........by which time there may be another variety! Ho ho ho all.

Shareinthis: this link is for when so mass testing was done I Liverpool in June. Bit of a heavy complex read but Innova did not come out great. One of the general conclusions is that the test has to be performed properly by someone trained to do it and u derstand results. I seem to remember the first Innov tests (was it this year or last year?) had to be repackaged as the instruction leaflet enclosed said "for professional use so it was simply just changed!!!

Sportycaptain: Thanks for that. Searched more and came up with Acon Labs, another American company and ,tEsts made in US, Mexico and...........China. Have emergency use certification from FDA and probably brown enveloped through UK accounts recitation. It's probably easier and definitely quicker to catch covid, hopefully recover and go back to your life than it is to get a UK produced lft approved! Obviously not offering any colour envolope hasn't gone down too well. Mind you the Dhsc do need to pay their bills, if they came begging I'd be very tempted to tell them I don't care who they think they are and here's your proformer invoice...thank you.

Maximillian3 : I read and posted that Charles went to university in Wuhan and he does have a colourful/ slightly controversial background. It does seem that as Covid began to spread from WUHAN he saw an opportunity to tie up a lft supplier and the government, seeming desperate for the tests, had to go through Innova as they could supply!
In the early days of covid any test was better than none, seemed to be the attitude, it didn't really matter how effective and that's how they slipped through the net. The fDA said no way Hua but uk kept buying, while saying we want and will back uk lft production but then brought in various levels of test accuracy criteria (and multiple levels of bureaucracy) and changed test criteria on the fly!!!!! Government betrayal , hypocrasy and backhanders going on here, too much money to not be some corruption.

Some partial old news while we wait (was doing some reading up on Innova): Their boss, Charles (chunhua) Huang went to university in ...........WUHAN !!!!!! Thanks to DHSC the company now has TWO Gulfstream jets (the newest valued around $60 mill) and top execs are out buying multi million dollar houses. The company is now based in a $15 mill building. Not bad for a company started I early 2020!!!!! Oh, Charles bought a house worth more than £2.5mill.....is this irony or satire?
Meanwhile in sunny Scotland we wait and wait and wait..............got to happen soon!!!!!!

QE are based in Gateshead!! I did pose the question as to who's nano fabric they were using, could it be NNN.
I also, at the time, thought it quite amazing NNN can't produce the masks but the NHS can. I wonder how many prolarva masks are being sold and why there is no branding to clearly show it is not just a white surgical mask but something quite special, it does have a major use, wish I was allowed to sell it!!!!!

Pumpky: Surely you have to compare apples with apples when looking at price? You know from ODX and NNN it's the approval which is important first, the selling of the merits comes second. You also know QE FACILITY are/ are going to manufacture nano masks for nhs so not all about price. Agree, in the general volume market price is a key driver but that is where you then sell the hell out of the usp but it co es back to approvals before anything.

Has anyone noticed, it takes longer to get anything (masks, lft etc) approved than it does for a new variant t to come along!!
Someone correct me but didn't vaccine approval happen quicker than this lft approval?
How is it that while the government say "we will focus on UK manufactured" (look at the odx experience so far!!!) Chinese via American middlemen seem to get approval in no time at all ?
