News has been a bit slow to get around Sam, but Genflow has had 2 large pet distribution companies sign NDA’s, with the potential of licensing their dog anti-ageing technology. It’s possible either or both could lead to the company being cash generating. Initial trial results have given excellent data and it could even spark a bidding war to secure the IP. Seems the market has only just digested what has happened and like Money has said, much more news on the horizon! 🙏🏻

Roche and 89bio hold patents related to fatty liver disease. 89bio possesses patents covering its drug candidate, pegozafermin (previously BIO89-100), which is a FGF21 analog for treating MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis). Roche has now entered into an agreement to acquire 89bio, thereby gaining ownership of these patents and the associated drug pipeline for fatty liver disease.

89bio's Patents

Pegozafermin (BIO89-100)

: 89bio holds patents for its drug candidate pegozafermin, which is a glycoPEGylated analog of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21).

Patent Coverage

: A specific patent, US Patent 10,407,479, covers the composition of matter for BIO89-100, as well as its methods of production and use in treating MASH and metabolic syndrome.

MASH Indication

: These patents provide coverage through 2038 for the therapeutic indications of MASH or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Roche's Acquisition

Acquisition of 89bio

: Roche announced a definitive merger agreement to acquire 89bio, gaining control of its MASH drug candidate and its related patents.

Strategy

: The acquisition strengthens Roche's position in the cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases (CVRM) sector, expanding its pipeline with a promising MASH therapy.

So I’m guessing if Genflow land the patent, they should expect similar takeover figures to 89Bio?

Looking at HEMO’s valuation at £85m - Genflow have more programmes, better IP, great access to non dilutive funding, and imo a much more established board of directors.

Here’s some of what is still to follow:

In the near term, Genflow Biosciences is expected to release a final analysis of its clinical trial for aging dogs by the end of 2025. The company has also recently announced strengthened intellectual property (IP) and new confidential disclosure agreements (CDAs) with animal health companies, which could lead to further news on potential partnerships.

Near-term milestones:

Q4 2025

Dog aging trial results: Genflow's 12-month proof-of-concept clinical trial evaluating its SIRT6 gene therapy (GF-1004) in older dogs is scheduled to conclude. Licensing deals for the technology could follow the trial's outcome.

Initial human clinical trial (MASH): In a June 2025 corporate update, Genflow planned to initiate a human clinical trial for its lead candidate (GF-1002) in patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) in 2025. The trial is pending the necessary regulatory submissions.

Recent announcements (September 2025):

Animal health CDAs: On September 15, 2025, Genflow announced it signed Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) with two major animal health companies. This allows Genflow to explore potential partnerships for its dog longevity research.

Strengthened IP: On September 19, 2025, the company announced it had strengthened its IP portfolio, with its core SIRT6 patent application advancing in both Europe and Japan.

Context on Genflow's pipeline:

The company's pipeline and recent activities are focused on several gene therapy programs that use a centenarian variant of the SIRT6 gene:

MASH (GF-1002): The lead human candidate, which has successfully completed an initial manufacturing test.

Werner Syndrome (GF-1003): The company has developed a proprietary liver organoid model for testing.

I know some people who have had orders in that haven’t been filled. The drop seems to be a tactic just to accommodate their max limits where they’re too tight to pay the ask 😆

A recent example of ophthalmology value, is Merck's acquisition of EyeBio for up to $3 billion, including an upfront payment of $1.3 billion and potential milestone payments.

Other examples include Astellas' $1.7 billion acquisition of Iveric Bio to bolster its retinal disease pipeline.

Alcon is also acquiring STAAR Surgical in a $1.5 billion deal to expand its vision correction solutions, particularly for myopia.

Bausch + Lomb also bought Novartis' "front of eye" assets for up to $2.5 billion, consisting of $1.75 billion upfront and potential milestone payments.

Could Genflow’s ophthalmology programme achieve similar returns??? 😉

Collaborating on an exosome-mRNA project.
