Digby, exactly, I don't or rather didn't know anything about macroeconomics, so I'm trying to educate myself, the more I learn, the more I think we are all being taken for fools. I think its deliberately designed to be opaque so that plebs (thats us) cannot question it. Currently as I understand it the UK owes 30% of the national debt to itself. Its just insane when you start digging.
EXMEX, he would appear to be an excellent hire specialist in the work that Novacyt do. As I have said before Novacyt excel in R&D, honestly, no other company comes close.
This is what confuses me so much. We have a new CEO who is from a marketing background and from previous presentations prior to Novacyt, looked on the money.
Yet since joining Novacyt, over a year now he's been abysmal. Just don't get it.
R&D still excellent, from the last presentation salad did, I was quite optimistic, his plans were sound.
It just seems to be taking forever to implement them.
The stand shown recently was pretty abysmal.
If you want to make a splash, you really need to have an impressive stand. In your face hoardings, working machines, showing how they work, more staff.

Great find B2H, these are the markets that need to be exploited.
Versalab, on site, high accuracy in hours.
Alternative would be sending samples away for days before a result.
Could save whole flocks being culled or stopping spread by early intervention.
There is a world of opportunity out there for this technology. Its not the science of all this thats the problem.

They were told nearly 2 years ago by front line staff that if they want winterplex to be taken up, they needed a promate type test for it.
There panel of winterplex isn't the only show in town, other companies have similar panels.
I'm really confused now. I was told that they weren't going after mainstream lab work.
They also didn't go after the community diagnostic hub work either, which I thought they were ideally placed for, and still are tbf but have made zero effort to get in there.
It feels like since salad man arrived the company has been in paralysis.
His last presentation I thought was OK, his vision seemed sound.
However, it feels like were now stuck.
I was pleased to see the RNS regarding winterplex, I'd be more pleased with a RNS regarding contract sales.
I hear salad man saying one thing, which sounds OK, but its not translating into sales.
I'm honestly at a loss, we have rumours of a TATA MD deal but seeing the pathetic stall they had at a recent trade show doesn't fill me with confidence.
After over a year of salad man, I'm at a total loss now as to what he's doing other than milking the country.
Probably shouldn't be this honest on here but I've seen my investment dwindle to next to nothing.

Thanks for the link, actually after watching that and a quick scan of the presentation think I should retract most of what I said above.
My initial reaction is reasonably positive although I'll caveat it will some assumptions on my part.
If we are to take everything at dace value.
They have streamlined the organisation, removed non profitable lines and reduced OPEX costs considerably and headcount, nearly 100 positions gone cf highs of covid.

They appear to have moved against the strategy from their previous presentation.

So, imo, they have done what they have said they would do.
Taking this on board, if I were being positive, they are preparing the company to grow, preparing the company to be fit for the future, if you will.
We all knew that there would be an ugly transition phase post covid, which I think is where we are now.
I didn't expect the revenues to fall quite so far, quite so fast but here we are.
The geographical footprint seems to have improved internationally albeit not generating too much in revenue but nonetheless progress being made.

I think now we are entering quite an important stage, growing the none covid business, this, for me, is key.
If they can do this successfully over probably 12 -18 months then things could pick up considerably.
They are still well placed to deal with any future epidemics or pandemics but need that steady bread and butter revenue to grow (is this the organic growth DA refers to ?)

Question I've just asked myself is, had the covid aberration not happened would I feel comfortable with where we are now. Surprised myself by saying yes (I'm nursing 5 figure losses here)
It seems now that the business has moved from a R&D very unfocused business into a more streamlined, much more focused business, gearing up and getting ready for growth.

Just my musings but they are as valid as anyone else's on here.

The company has no debt and good WCAP so running out of cash shouldn't happen anytime soon.
I'm not ramping before anyone starts, none of this could happen and it all goes t1 ts up.

Just what had DA done since he started. I'm honestly at a loss, if the CEO position had been left vacant for the last 12 months, I'm not sure that we would be in much more of a different position, plus we would have saved the salary, plus the bonus plus the payrise

Just on a different tack. We know that the covid revenue has all but finished.

What i fail to understand now, is that most of the Q machines initially supplied to nhs labs are now gathering dust sat in cupboards.
Why aren't the UK sales force out knocking on doors to sell other tests that can be performed.
Labs frequently send more specialist tests away to reference labs, which is more costly and time consuming.
The Q machines would be ideal for this kind of testing.

It would appear that there isn't much of this activity going on from primerdesign UK sales force, one wonders what they are ACTUALLY doing.
I've not caught up on the latest presentation and not sure I've got the stomach to watch it tbf.
But was any visibility and/or progress on the sales strategy given. As in a follow up to the last briefing, any progress made and new markets emerging etc

Oh and the dry swabs AND Pbs swabs have now both been validated as appropriate sample types

The longer this goes and as more info seeps out the more confusing it becomes.
A couple of points.
A) NO company would ever claim 100%, you just wouldn't do that especially with pcr tests.
B) as I've said since this dispute started, it was never the case that sites were saying that it didn't work, it was just clumsy to use and prone to user error in a high pressure general lab.
Thats not a failing of the kit or equipment.
C) prior to purchase the TVG approved the product as fit for purpose.
D) why, if there were such significant issues, did DHSC continue to buy large quantities of kit, long after these issues were raised
E) the machines and kits are still in use in the NHS albeit at a much lower level now for reasons but NOT because there are any faults with the kit, just because the large automated analysers are preferred.

Unless there is a hidden gotcha lying deep in the contracts I cannot see how DHSC have a good chance of winning this dispute.
Please make this make sense because I'm at a loss with all all this.

So, now we are sub £1, yeah.
This was my second foray into the bear pit of AIM.
The last time was with Torotrak, again, another company with a very bright future, innovative technology that could have been a game changer.
They were also led by a BOD who promised the world and delivered nothing. They went bust but not after all the BOD had filled their pockets. I at least then was wise enough to cash in on the highs so ended up about even.
I now see the same thing happening here. As I've said previously DA has been utterly appalling as a CEO, I wasn't convinced by his appointment in the first place, his early days were just silent but we all said, give him time. Well, now he's had time, his impact as CEO has actually had a massive negative effect on the company, the share price has completely tanked. Every RNS, when they bother to release them has a negative effect on the SP.
There's literally no vision, no plan.
This company had so much potential, I worked in this field, I know what they are about. The R&D was second to none. The BOD have thrown all this away, they have lost first mover advantage.
Their USP was near patient testing, yet they never bothered pitching for any of the community diagnostic hubs in the UK, for reasons I'm yet to fathom. That ship has also now sailed. They won't get into main NHS path labs as the other main players have caught up.
I'm left now with the feeling that the BOD will just leech the money in the bank into their own pockets, then just walk away, as I said I've seen this happen before. Awarding themselves ridiculous pay rises when the performance of the company was lamentable. I invested here because their potential was unlimited, yet the BOD, like the UK government are absent.
I can't begin to express my disappointment with this.
If I were DA, I would be so embarrassed by my performance I would be giving money back to the company, let alone taking bonuses and pay rises, whilst making others, who actually add value to the company are being redundant.
If you are reading this David, you are the same age as me. I've come across so many ppl just like you, full of noise and with a paucity of talent. Do us all a favour, knob off and get a job you can do because you are clearly out of your depth here. I hear liz truss is looking for talentless word salad ppl, you would fit right in

This is nothing to do, repeat NOTHING to do with the fact that water companies are gushing out more quantities of untreated sewage into our waterways now we are released from the shackles of the EU, so can do so with impunity. So much Brexit winning. Sunlit, ****e ridden uplands

Kind of take a bit of exception to the term user error.
Staff knew how to use it correctly, it just took too long, was v convoluted and didn't really lend itself to a hectic general lab environment when you consider what was going on at the time

@B2H, its all very well having a high sales margin but if you aren't selling volume, it really doesn't matter.
It's almost as if Novacyt don't know what their target market is.
They are not going to get into mainstream Labs, too many players who have high volume, load, and walk away analysers.
I thought that they were focusing on near patient testing, in local clinics etc. But I can't see any evidence that they have been targeting those markets. I mentioned the community diagnostic hubs in the UK in a previous post. The whole project was worth billions and will be an open ended market. Admittedly the market for Novacyt in this scheme would have been much smaller however, it would have been a great bench test of their equipment and prove to DHSC that they have viable products for this market. Novacyt did nothing , I repeat nothing, at all, to even try to get into this market. I still get my profession's publication, it was almost cover to cover advertisements for point of care testing equipment, all the main players (Abbott, Roche, Siemens etc) were heavily advertised.
This all just leaves me completely stumped.
What's going on, it just doesn't make any sense

I still hold.
I only check in here occasionally now, there's not much to say.
Having waded thru the weeds of the posts a few salient points I've noted.
First and foremost, novacyts R&D team continues to impress, THEY deserve a significant rise as they are the powerhouse behind this company.
As far as I'm concerned that's where the good news ends.
The company seems rudderless now.
The BOD seem to be completely detached from their own company.
There appears to be no leadership, no one getting out there, saying, these are our strengths, this is what we can do, globally. Laying out a strategic plan for growth, targeting untapped markets.
Believe me Novacyt is more than capable to do this, they have the skills, technology and know how to do this.
For me, personally, its not the capability of the company thats lacking, it's the leadership.
It's so frustrating,because for me, I can see where the opportunities are and there are many but Novacyt they seem to be frozen.
There was a massive opportunity in the UK with the introduction of community diagnostic hubs, Novacyt didn't bother trying to get in there.
Tropical disease testing, with versalab in African airports, yellow fever testing.
I'm not sure whats going on, opportunities exist but you need to go out there and make them happen.
I criticised DA a little prematurely but he's had nrly a year now and I still really don't know anything about him, he's been truly awful. He's not leading the company and getting out there.
A couple, as in 2, interviews.
There is no way on God's earth any of the BOD should get a rise, we've seen the SP collapse and just static from the BOD.
Whoever is in charge of the sales team needs sacking.
I still believe in the potential of Novacyt but not with the current BOD, they Don't seem to have a clue

If covid carries on like the UK is going to be on §hit Street again come August.
No mass vaccination plan this year either, just vulnerable and NHS staff, but thats a price the government is willing to pay on our behalf

If we don't test and everyone pretends covids gone away, everything will be aaalllll right.
