Still chugging along with the repairs it seems. Putford Jaguar support ship left the Tolmount platform after a 10 day ish stint and replaced by the Smaller Putford Ajax on Saturday. Watching daily now for any change in routine…XOM reports Tues. Rest of the pack are on the charge at the moment…really need the good news story here. US mkts recovered well on Fri after Biden chat about stimulus. CNY and Beijing olympics to navigate next week, unlikely to see Putin make his move so should provide a bit more risk on environment backed up by decent weekly candlesticks and Vic back below 30..

This rally looks unusual (although so were the early drops of last week) . Options players hedging those presold protected portfolios and scrambling desperately to cover back delta hedges…and getting a little run over….? Or the Captain about to cut the ribbon on his new enterprise? Might even engulf Fridays candlestick at this rate! Good luck all

Chaos theory resumes with US bourses off plenty, but little old Hbr up 5% . Mind of its own today or is it the great rotation out of tech or despite the potential Covid delays the sparkies have pulled out all the stops and a ‘vague’ deadline gets met…? Need to check more into those support vessel movements , crew rotations etc…?

Feel your frustration but see more upside here than elsewhere but happy to spread risk across all oilies as the managed money needs to find its new theme for the year and more importantly an inflation hedge

Institutional ownership up 1.8% last week to 25.64 % according to the MSN website .which makes sense on the rotation into oil stocks….what doesn’t make sense though is the current price and today’s sell off . Going to go read a bag of monster munch to cheer myself up.

What are your thoughts on Tolmount start up, assuming slight delay due to Covid staffing issues? Weather feels like it had been behaving itself recently …Or Positive Thunder if you’re reading. Mid Feb or March?

LeMarc, lies and deceit and spineless fca, but remember there were a ton of holdings notices from GS and MS around that period that imo could have had potential links. there have been none this time . Also what is the incentive? Debt doesn’t need to be restructured for a good while , bonds aren’t in trouble and can’t imagine debt is trading at a discount….

Thin trading , tree shaking PIs with frustration and a nervous imposition…

It’s NOT being shorted otherwise it would show up in the exchange short list or in bank holdings…

Still of the view that the lacklustre updates and reserve downgrades plus the set ups for a fall eg Dunottar are to remove as many layers of PIs off the books and remove the pmo legacy…. and the frustration certainly helping, especially when the other oilies are coming on leaps and bounds . Plenty been shaken out here. Possible Forward selling from structures set up by the banks for the locked in crew may be at play, and only showing up as protected portfolio exchanges rather than in the holdings…bit head scratching why you would forward sell an inflation hedge..

The fact still remains that the cash generation is monumental…Tolmount with possible 2 week Covid crew delays could easily be on mid Feb…

No instant gratification though , so can see why people want to shift in the short term - just maybe others not with as much potential upside as hbr. Good Luck all. More jam tomorrow …

Oil on the other hand , hard to short with the Ukraine situation…see how hardball they can play and who bankrupts who first? Interesting Biden reps met with oil company heads over the weekend to see what could be done if Russia shuts the taps.

Think you and I look at different time scales for Hbr . Looking at the daily charts not the intras / but last 2 days have broken out the consolidation area so momentum has regained to the upside…Oil and wider markets yes I look at smaller time scales to trade. And correct have made more in oil (my background) than hbr in the last 6 months, and as posted somewhere a while back have a lump in the low 360s which more than happy to sit on for the year looking for a 650 exit if oil plays ball. Assume you waiting for the dip to reload?

Stats will be all over the show once more with all the end of year destocking for tax reasons so hopefully shouldn’t derail the current momentum and largely ignored. From wti spread very much showing the physical tightness in the prompt

Hbr share price is not ignoring the techs and flat as in Jefff you have no position in hbr currently. Dips have been no doubt valuable in the wider markets

Crude feels like it heading to take out last year’s high, stocks and rsi getting bit high but not in kenny logins danger zone…good Luck all

Totally agree oneDb , I like the 22ema as another trigger which we closed above a few days ago and adds to my view (similar to the 20 sma)

Jefffery I beg to differ but let’s hope we get quickly back above 4 now with currrnt chart momentum and markets regaining love with energy stocks for the weak dollar and inflation trade.
