Won’t be long before there’s a war between them, Sir Al will have to negotiate, but eventually he’ll shake hands with AZN or GSK for a 5% stake, giving us an instant valuation in line with Ablynx of $5Bn.

Or Sir Al walks away, but that’s not the end on Dragon’s Den. Conversations always continue. The alternative is Avacta gets the $250m specifically for this trial with shared royalties and we keep all the equity.

Sir Al has said our test will be the best. It’s as simple as that. It’s quick, it’s convenient, it’s specific and here’s hoping it’s the sensitive type.

There is no need to worry about any competition - globally. Competitors may turn up at some point, but the global market is absolutely huge, so there’s still no concern.

Think bigger picture, our test will not only save the world, it’ll showcase the affimer tech for future applications. This is the start of something incredible so don’t panic every time there’s an article about a trial, orders for other tests etc. They’re all inferior and will fall by the wayside.

Precisely, that’s the genius of the deal. We needed sales and marketing. If we’d done a tin pot deal with a white label distributor no one had heard of (or amazon for that matter) there’s absolutely no chance it’d have made any paper other than the Yorkshire Post (nowt wrong with that of course)
