Yeah, had a chat with Gazala about Skin. I wasn’t expecting a tie up as they’d recently signed up to receive aptamers. I did wonder why they wouldn’t use affimers though... and lo and behold... it’s a great solution if adopted widely. Given they’re now saying antibodies don’t last we’ll have to adapt to live with covid. The least intrusive testing you can think of is simply going about your daily business (literally). This then provides the early warning to deploy Awacta tests to avoid blunt lockdowns. Best of all, we receive revenue for both.

Just for old times sake, here are my thoughts... 80% sensitivity is useful, 90% would be incredible and 95%+ would blow the bloody doors off. Any POC test that isolates 80%+ of infected people simply has to be of huge value. Klaus fancies 95%+.

Suspect he’s mainly referring to Sona, but with the Canadian govt first in the queue for those and his reference to plural tests, rather than singular, suggests they’re more than aware of what’s on the way from Blighty.

It’s another route to the Covid market, as wise Timster said, the potential multiple revenue streams are building up nicely now. As soon as they start coming through, Awacta are in for the mother of re-rates. Just in time for the cancer trials. Despite the limp market reaction, it’s getting better by the day.

Unless they hand out Imodium along with Awacta tests then you’d assume they would switch to daily Awacta ‘human tests’ until everyone is full clear and then reset the sh.tty test.

I disagree, but even if true I’m sure attitudes on testing will quickly change once there’s a better solution available. I don’t think we can try and anticipate the MAHOOSIVE (is that the word you were after Timster?) future based on the testing that’s been available to date.

An unfortunate use of ‘follow-through’. Otherwise a very rampy biased broker note, hope it’s true.

The Awacta announcement sounds like it’ll be fastest to commercialise given the existing 3000 installations. Both are heading to Aberdeen, be interesting to hear results of this head to head comparison.

At least AW now has a legitimate reason to be talking a load of sh.t.

Awacta are progressing on multiple fronts, nice try, but I can’t see how that adding another revenue stream can be spun in to bad news.

Well I never. Having recently researched Skin, I wasn’t expecting this. They had a deal with the aptamer group. Maybe this is more evidence their aptamers are sh.t compared with affimers? It’s a good partnership, an early warning system and then deploy a bunch of LFDs to the population.

It’s another Covid revenue stream so not to be sniffed at. At least if it’s successful we’ve got Skin in the game.
