Woody, watch the video, it’s about frequency of testing and stopping people that are infectious spreading it. 50% still has a chance of stopping a good proportion of infected people leaving the house. The FDA 80% is a decent benchmark to aim for, the video suggests getting anything out there and using it frequency can make a difference. He’s right. But...
That said, if you pause it at 8 mins, he’s coloured in the orange section. That’s great and he’s right, but it misses all the people that fit in the rectangle beneath it down to the green line. What you actually want, and this is where Klaus bounds in, is both... 80% is good, 90% is incredible. 95%+ is unbelievable. You want a rapid AND high performing test, then the orange line on the chart is lower and you have a testing regime that’s incredibly effective at stopping the vast majority of infectious people transmitting it.
