Someone a while back had a very handy list of LFD manufacturers. There are plenty out there, how many we need will depend on their capacity. I’d expect them to be announced as they will want to announce the news as BBI did.

PCR is not a competitor, it’s complementary just as BAMS will be. BAMS adds incremental capacity. As for the idea of batched samples, it would be likely to be a false economy. You’d have to spend additional time preparing the samples and there’s a reasonable chance in a hospital setting the prevalence rate is high enough that every pooled sample would contain a positive result and you’d then have to test them individually anyway.

They’re now using lower nasal swab which sounds just like a badly taken sample to me... especially when the thinking is that saliva is better. Also, they originally said they were launching in September. Now they’re saying a nice vague Q4. Delays eh? Tut tut tut...

Certain drugs... certainly not a test that hasn’t been developed so I’m sure it’s fine. They’ll certainly be deemed essential and I’m sure it won’t be long before a US manufacturer is producing Awacta tests. Cyvita would be a straightforward choice...
