Thanks sharesport. Yes I had read that, and it seems that the system that failed big time at Teeside is not dead, reading that article, and that is the same system that is now proposed for Bilsthorpe.

It would be interesting if someone with more technical knowledge than myself could could give a meaningful comparison between the Westinghouse system and PHE's system.

Toyota and other vehicle manufacturers seem to have overcome the problem of storing hydrogen because they are able to store it in the tanks of their vehicles, although the materials and manufacture of the tanks may be expensive, I don't know.

And I believe that producing hydrogen from methane by reformation is very costly and of course uses a lot of electricity.

You are spot on sharesport. The fact that someone has to deliver hydrogen, in whatever form, to the forecourt should not be regarded as an issue because it is no different to the current situation where someone has to deliver diesel and petrol to the forecourt.

And using electricity from the grid, as I believe some systems currently do, is not a satisfactory long term option because a) it certainly isn't "green" (may as well just keep using diesel) and will not be feasible when it comes to the point that the grid cannot cope with the huge load of vehicles using the grid to charge up electric cars and vehicles, as well as producing hydrogen to power hydrogen / fuel cell vehicles.

We have to look at the bigger long term picture.

I seem to recall that Westinghouse was the technology that failed at Teeside, but is now likely to be used at one of Peel's sites in the UK.

Although the Brexit uncertainties are undoubtedly a pain the bum and are not helping matters, I'm sure that's no reason for the company to maintain a long period of radio silence. They could still update us on a whole range of matters, and if they are not sure about life after Brexit then I think that's something that they really ought to be explaining to us rather than switching off communications.

I just believe in accountability, rx, simple as that, and I feel uncomfortable if I think that perhaps the chap in charge of the drill just might be the same chap that screwed it up last time. As you say, time will tell. But let's not talk about the past being in the past, because it may not be in the past, it just might turn round and bit us all in the bum, again.

As a share-holder, I would just like to have it confirmed that the wrong guy hasn't been fired, and that they haven't kept the wrong guy in place. We will know soon enough, whether this incompetent cock-up gets sorted shortly or not.

I disagree, K3. As a shareholder I want to know if the person who caused the problems in the past is still there and in the same position. That's not about bringing up the past, and it's not a witch hunt. It's about knowing whether the person in a crucial position is capable or not. Of course I don't want to state anything that could damage the SP, but equally I don't want the company to keep repeating the same mistakes. So it is important to know this.

Thanks penceofpurpose, but that still doesn't explain why Tidswell is tweeting that he hasn't been in charge of operations for 6 months. So if he wasn't in charge, who was? Is he suggesting that all of the operational failures was down to Paul Vonk?

Itsall, Vonk couldn't have been directly in charge of operations, he isn't an engineer nor an operations man, so someone below him had to be in charge of the operation. Surely we can find out who it was.

This needs to be bottomed out. Someone should be held accountable for the various cock-ups that have taken place.

I thought Tidswell was in charge of operations. So if he wasn't, who was previously? It couldn't have been Vonk, because he isn't an operations guy, I believe he was previously in finance of some kind. So who was the top man in operations?

Bear in mind that the rig is not under SRSP control, and won't be until it completes the job for NDEP on OPL227. Also Shelf Drilling initially stated that the rig would start the NDEP job in November, and the SRSP job in January. It was about a month late in starting the NDEP job, so it's current timing is not really too much of a surprise.

Of course, that doesn't excuse Bobo insisting that it was going to start drilling Ororo in Q4 last year when it was blatantly obvious to everyone else at that time that that was impossible!
