You need to look at the history of Mongolia and it's relationship with China and Russia to understand why Mongolia wants independence as a Sovereign state. Securing it's own fuel supplies is a significant step in achieving this goal. Avo33, you are either being a little bit silly or trying to stir up something.

I was an accountant by traded (retired age 53yrs) so I will go away and have a look at the candles etc. I have been here for seven years with an avg price of 4p and 500K plus shares so I will wait for the next RNS. AIM has always carried risks which must be accepted at the point of investment.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the link tell us? I have read the detail and feel this is all rather confusing when Cabinet have given approval to Matad and we just wait for one signature from local representative. Please explain.

JTB. You provided a link to the Mining Journal that had an article outlining the reason why Mongolia needs internal oil supply. There was a question pushed back by a MATAD shareholder which has gone unanswered. See question below:

Why are you not mentioning Petro Matad who discovered oil in 2019 in field XX in Matad Soum, next to Petro China's fields, but are still trying to get that oil out of the ground 5 years later. How do you think you are going to feed that oil refinery if companies like Petro Matad are treated like this. Do you really think you will get foreign investment in the oil industry when everyone can see what is happening with Petro Matad. Why is there only Petro Matad interested in applying for new licenses. Why don't you mention this in your interview

You set out the geo / political and economic landscape very well I believe we have 2 - 3 years before things get really nasty although if and when the SP rises above 50p I will be off!

Good to see you back WOS. I'm just making an observation in relation to power and politics and economic sense. An RNS is badly needed particularly when you listen to the interview Mike Buck did four months ago.

Four months ago Mike Buck gave an interview and mentioned that they were in the process of negotiating a contract

that would allow Petro China to process the Heron Oil whilst the refinery was being built. This is a key point and may well explain why there is no RNS or rush to bring Heron on stream. Mongolian Govt may well be insisting (behind closed doors) that Petro China have nothing to do with the Heron oil given the negative environmental impact Petro China has had in Mongolia. Politics often win over sound economic arguments and therefore the MG will only allow the Heron Oil out of the ground when refinery is fully operational. Mick Buck needs to clarify the situation in a separate RNS.

Do we know anymore about what was discussed and agreed at the Mongolian meeting?

BP. Please read what I said correctly. I didn't say whilst undertaking my activities I thought of you, I only think of you when I read your posts. We are so lucky to have someone like you on the BB. It makes me so grateful that when I retired at 53 yrs of age (with an index linked pension) I could afford one or two nice things and not rely on this BB as my main source of entertainment.
