I don't think cwu will recommend it , especially not if parcel force have still been left out in the cold , but i think they will still have to put it to a vote.

A few on workplace seem to think the telegraph is just now reporting the last deal that was rejected by the cwu. I'm not sure because I don't think that deal was 18 months rather than 2 years.

It's a telegraph article. If it's true I think the union will have no choice but to put it to a ballot, and if that happens I think it will squeeze through. Be interesting to see if this week's strikes will be called off to allow a ballot though because I can't see rm allowing strikes to go ahead whilst keeping the same offer on the table.

Yeah I get all that , and I don't want to get into all that about the CWU because we're just going over old ground, other than to say I don't think we/they were left with any other option.
What I'm a bit confused about is , I thought whatever DK decides to do with a takeover was a win for shareholders. Unless obviously you happen to have a high average ( and I don't mean you personally I just mean any shareholder) . That's the only scenario where it would be bad news surley?

Interesting that even the daily mail say " the government could and should block a takeover". Seems like you don't know as much as you seem to think you do @Maxipad ;)
Also interesting that it mentions that this situation has small investors nervous. I thought a takeover was good for investors???

12th and 14th was cancelled to give 15 days of clear time for intensive talks when the 2 48hr strikes were announced .

2% lump is payable upon successful revision . Wording was very ambiguous. Some might say we haven't had a 'successful ' revision in years. Sundays would initially be voluntary but if there wasn't enough volunteers it would be enforced. Again , the wording leaves rm with a lot of wiggle room to move the goal posts. And let's just say trust is at an all time low lol

Me neither but to be honest I don't think rm would need to change that much to have an offer accepted. There were a few murmurs that quite a few people would have accepted the last one . I think as far as pay goes , backdate the 3.5% to April, make the 2% lump sum no strings , and up next year's to 2.5% . Then on change make Sunday working voluntary only and built into new starters contracts so everyone then has a choice to work it if they want. Make final delivery 4pm not 5pm .
I think that would get a vote across the line in my opinion . Don't get me wrong , a lot of people would still be ****ed but it would get the deal done.

For once anger I agree with you. The one positive I took from it was that cwu were happy for the cut off to be the 22nd but rm wanted it to be the 15th before financial results . Which kinda tells me they are wanting it sorted before then. Oh and ST won't be in the room lol
