Same reason people read the one way street that is rm social media .
The real reason should be why would 'you' bother reading the cwu social media as the street is never going to be going your way .
@scamp
""As for Thompson acting the way he is? Quite simple, he is just doing exactly what has been previously discussed and thought out by the Board 12 - 18 months ago...or considerably longer back than this even. In fact, this is more than likely a plan of action for dealing with the posties and restructuring RMG that goes back to the Rico Back days.""
So you're saying all the nicey nicey culture change and the signing of the pathway to change by Thomson only last year was all lies and deceit?? Surely the whiter than white Mr T wouldn't be capable of that sort of thing?
I don't understand this infatuation with people doing overtime after a strike. Backlogged mail is just one aspect of the industrial action. Royal mail have to pay for that overtime which I'm sure they're not happy with , they have to hire agency to cover the striking employees both on the day and afterwards to catch up which costs royal mail money, customers could lose confidence and go elsewhere costing royal mail revenue which probably doesn't make them happy , they have to pay and bribe managers to cross the picket line and do our work which costs them even more money which you guessed it , vexxes them I'm sure. You see the theme here ? The while point is to make royal mail so unhappy they reconsider their plans and come back to the table to negotiate a fairer deal. So If a postie can take a bit of the burden of lost income off their shoulders by doing a little OT it really doesn't make that much differance. And no amount of OT is going clear the backlog next month when the rolling functional strikes start anyway. Royal mail in November and December is a talotally different job than it is the rest of the year. In my MC you can't move for mail over the Xmas Christmas period even with all the extra agency staff . I shudder to think what it's going to be like with 3 strikes a week.
Mhudson, like many on here you sound like a broken record, we get it, you're clearly very disgruntled about your time at Cardiff MC . But everything you say just screams very poor management, so why are you so angry at the workers?
""It normally helps if you have someone who knows what happens in delivery.""
Maybe best Thomson doesn't attend then lol.
This after all is the man that didn't know the acronym so widely used in the postal service Elvis Presley sang a song about it. And the shareholders believe he can run this business. Lmao you couldn't make it up.
Might have known you would be the first to run to his defence. He really can't do any wrong in your eyes can he , or is it just the fact you feel the need to disagree with any post on here that supports the posties ?? Hmmmi wonder.
Anyway , did you also the read the part of that post that said " Simon Thomson was due to be at the talks on monday ". ? . Of corse you did , you just chose to ignore it like you do with every other bit of information that doesn't suit your narrative.
""Members should be aware that Simon Thompson was due to be at the talks on Monday – he did not attend. In this meeting Royal Mail Group indicated that they were open to a fresh approach. Simon Thompson instead chose to subsequently brief operational managers and sabotage the process.""
And some people think it's the cwu that are not open to negotiate. Go figure.
What would you consider a fair deal concerning pay and terms and conditions?
I accept of course you cannot go into a long dialogue...but just sum it up in a couple of sentences.
I've said from the very beginning I would be happy with a 5-6% pay rise and I feel the majority of posties would be more than happy with that. As far a change goes I am in total agreement that change is needed , we are way behind the competition and have been for a long while. I am in agreement with siso , job and knock is just not sustainable anymore and it doesn't promote fairness in the workplace , however , like someone commented the other day I don't think this is going to have the desired effect royal mail think it will as people will stop coming in early and working through their breaks to finish earlier if they are actually made to work to their finish time. That's just my opinion of course.
Sick pay does definitely need to change and there are far too many people that abuse it . I think sorting just these couple of things would weed out the wheat from the chaff and then once things are settled and we know where we are staff wise we can look at revising the duties ( as I'm sure they will look a lot different when people are forced to do it properly ) and then we can stop hiring agency , saving thousands and finally work towards growing the business .
This is what o would like to see , however I just don't trust that this is our ceo's aim , Purley based on the passed years performance.
All very simplified of course but that's why I'm just a driver and I pay and trust other people to get us to this point. What other choice do we have as employees.
The unions have already played their nuclear strike card, what have they got left to threaten?
Incorrect , we have showed our nuclear strike plan , we haven't yet played it . Which is why Thomson has gone straight to his nuclear option and threatened staff. What have we got left ?? December
Hahaha and there it is as usual . You're arguments get questioned so you close down the debate as usual . Funnily enough , exactly like Thomson does the minute he's asked to explain.
Enjoy your walk mate. Take sunscreen, it's been a while since you saw sunlight.
You really are a tool aren't you. You've blatantly just used the same spin as RM are doing . Either you are just doing it sonic fits your rhetoric or you really are that stupid that you don't even know you're doing it. Let me correct you again.
Times maybe a bit harder this year but you still have £2500 to spend on a holiday and because things are a bit tougher you only tip the waiter (shareholders) £5 instead of £20.
Clearer for you flower? Jeesus.
Shut up you absolute melt . Instead of gobbling off like a bratty child and just saying four people have already told you , actually argue the point. You can't say in one breathe that last years figures don't matter and then use then very same figures to say the company is loosing £1m a day you idiot. What about that is going over your head. Non wonder you're sh7t at investment if you can't even understand that. Talk about embarrassing.
Bagenator thank you for your input.
" What happened last year or ten years ago has no bearing on what a company earns this year."
Thank you for reinforcing my point. What happened last year has absolutely no bearing and the 1m daily loss rhetoric can not be reached without using it.
""Royal Mail employees going on strike is a bit like block buster staff going on strike, outside of the company absolutely no one cares""
If that is true then that suits us fine . But I'm pretty sure it affects the shareholders and the fat cats that have been the only people benefitting from the massive profits that were made last year, hence why there is so much bitterness on this forum.
""The reason you’re striking rather than quitting is because you can’t get the same remuneration""
Again , we'll done , you are correct. And we are taking strike action to keep that very remuneration because the idiots running this company are decimating it.

Phunt, it doesn't matter what the profit was, that was last year. £1m loss per day is happening now
So simx , if you are totally discounting last years profits you have nothing to compare this years profits to , so now explain to me how we are loosing 1m a day without using last years figures? Seriously, genuine question.
