Kimmeridge mentioned a few times on Coast this evening, they burnt some Kimmeridge Shale and sweated some oil out of it in a test tube. It's been on before.They mentioned how the Kimmeridge Shale was the basis of the North Sea oil fields, and flashed up a graphic showing the extent of it. Nothing on the current developments though, other than a brief view of a nodding donkey, presumably at Wytch Farm.

There is nothing in that article to suggest it was a battery fire. In fact, given that is was under control in 3 hours, I'd hazard a guess that batteries were not directly involved, as they can take significantly longer than that to put out.

Too many people with big losses on AIM do nothing but whinge about them and talk the market down further. Way to go. AIM is one of the first places to lost money in a downturn. It's also one of the first to make money in an upturn. And it's most affected by sentiment. Loose lips lose money.

bags - valuation of an oil company is based of the value of oil in the ground. A percentage of reserves, which changes with the degree of confidence that it can be recovered. Any company looking to purchase will value the company on that basis. Not on recovery rates.

Brave. We know what the forward plan is in terms of wells to be drilled and approximate dates, but we don't know what contingency is built into that forward plan for inevitables delays - planning, drilling, whatever. If you think they are just going to drill, test, repeat with no hitches you maybe need to have a word with yourself!

MCap will change significantly as reserves move from possible to probable to proven. Much also depends on when "the market" will get over itself re UKOG - which in turn is dependant on progress made.

I believe the SP will be multiples of what it is now, but by how much and when? No idea.

colin - once EV's are well established and people are used to plugging their car in wherever and whenever, why would anyone want to go back to an energy model which relies on them going to a "gas station" for fuel? I can see the advantages for energy companies who want to retain, or by then regain, their monopoly, but it won't be attractive for the consumer who has escaped the clutches of energy giants and their greed. It won't happen.

A huge part of EV adoption for many will be the democratisation of energy supply.

ohmetoe - there are strict rules about what constitues a valid objection. NIMBYism doesn't count, not does anything that not provably true. Many of those objections will be discounted. If you read the planning application all the genuine issues raised by residents (and swampies) are addressed, and everything put in the context of the UK energy policies. I'm confident that even if (or especially?) the hearing turns into a fiasco with protesters making fools of themselves, the decision based on facts should be the granting of planning permission. Stir the SCCs financial position into the mix and confidence increases.

Most of our oil imports are from Norway, not the EU.

This is a solid share but being ragged by traders of various stenches - shorters, swing traders, 10% ers. Swampies join in for their own nefarious reasons.

Occasionally sentiment takes a positive turn, as with the recent interviews and news pieces, as a welcome blast of sanity.

There is oil in the ground, it can be retrieved, cash flow is positive, forward plans are funded through cash at hand and cash-flow from oil sales. What's not to like?

Why will the SP be on it's knees? Given the low number of shares in issue, and that fact that a significant portion of those are in directors hands, it is no great surprise that trading volume here is low. This is reflected in the very sparse posting on this forum, and the relatively stable SP. News will happen when there is something newsworthy.
