“As would be expected in such circumstances, we were unable to provide information on this matter whilst a revised project configuration was being formulated, due to social and environmental impact sensitivities and had to defer the DFS until the details of the new site were agreed,” Coughlan added.
“We understand that a deferral to a DFS is usually considered a negative matter, but in this case, we consider it to be for a positive result, particularly as the Prunéřov site is currently home to the Prunéřov Power Plant, and the permitting can now be advanced in a more timely manner with the cooperation of the local, regional and federal governments.”
Does anyone genuinely think that no work to incorporate this move into the DFS will have been done until this announcement was made? Or maybe it has been under review for quite a while - as is pretty much stated in the first paragraph quoted above?
Is his word more reliable? No. Simply put, he is a mouthpiece for South American brine recovery. That's the be all and end all of his "expertise". He bad mouths, or completely ignores, any other source of lithium in his grifting for his pay cheque. He has to be at least partly to blame for Sonora falling into Chinese hands as his ignorance there will have stifled local investment. Not surprising that he downplays ESG.
European Metals Executive Chairman Keith Coughlan commented; “Acquiring this land secures an integral part of the Cinovec Project – the acquisition of the land on which the Lithium Plant is to be built. The close location of Dukla to the mine site is critical to the minimisation of transport costs and ESG impact. The acquired land is zoned for industrial use. With the land now secured, DRA Global can complete the layout designs for the lithium plant which are required as part of the DFS and enables the timeline to completion to be maintained.”
Cadence CEO Kiran Morzaria added; “The Dukla land acquisition marks another major milestone in Cinovec’s evolution into a future battery grade lithium supply hub for Europe and the rest of the world. We look forward to further developments.”
All very positive.
Vote against the proposals, I can't see why they should get an easy ride after ripping off investors.
Private investors have kept them in a job for years, hard to have any sympathy, they must have been as aware as any what was happening.

Molten Salt Reactors for energy storage. Another reason why lithium tech is only the preferred solution for EVs, there are too many energy storage media that will be cheaper and have more potential than huge lithium battery backup facilities.
