Workplace testing8 Jan 2021 13:55
The company I work for has just instigated a workplace testing program. All staff have been issued a test with instructions to use it at home if they feel at all ill before coming to work, and to get a test from the NHS if the home test shows positive. The company is getting these from their stationary supplier! The test is the Roche antigen. It's a small company, and we're only talking of probably a couple of dozen tests a week.
This has been done as a customer of the company has also instigated a testing regime, their 10 employees now have a regular weekly test and again obviously another test if anyone feels unwell.
Given the potential cost to a small company if there is an outbreak, this is a low cost and invaluable insurance, and regular antigen testing is going to rapidly become the norm until we've seen the back of covid.
