RE: Seeing Machines wins Volvo - Safestocks13 Jan 2022 21:57
Terrym,
I will go further than you and say that it is not won until we have executed on what we were commissioned to execute, ( when the car has rolled off the production line).
Remember that SEYE announce the design win for Mercedes Benz Hyperscreen, but ultimately when they could not deliver to specs SEE stole that win..... so in the end SEYE announcing the design win. Prefer SEE method they announce when they have actually delivered on the specs...you can take that win to the bank.
As PM keep saying, the focus now is on project delivery.
Just like the analysts, I am cautious because I know that there are many a slip between the cup and the lip.
For example:
We are here counting the number of F150 lightning sold, but we know that SEE is only standard on the high-end trim and an Option on the next lower trim while not even available as an option on the basic trim , ( last time I checked). No one here has been able to tell me how many of the high end trim has been sold, what is the uptake of the option. I am not even sure [ Last I checked Blue Cruise will be released via OTA Q1 22, due to required upgrade , so unless the timeline has changed or it was released in the last 2 weeks it means that it is still not universally operational ...... do we get paid once it is operational or at sale of the car?]
All I know is that Paul said that license revenue will double year on year, last year we had SEE DMS in 120K cars, so at H1 22 result I am looking to see if we have about 120K installed in the first part of the year, ( again that is assuming a linear roll out ..but you get the method in my madness).
This investment may take longer to bear fruits but as long as the investment proposition for SEE remains the same, I have the patience. If a lot of the OEMs starts going with in-house offering or there is evidence that we are not able to deliver on the numerous extra features requested by the OEMs then I will re-evaluate my position.
