If directors buy it means no news. This is back to unfounded trial status, not back to square 1 but not far from it. CF probably risked enough for now. It will get a kick up if anyone supplies the trial drugs or they find a cheap alternative to pump. Back to the conference merry go round for the Team in the meantime.

Management have allowed Cavendish to publish unrealistic revenue and costs before, why would now be any different. They have a new product coming up for launch, I reckon a big chunk of the cost savings are reclassified and capitalised R&D, although at least half a million would be fees associated with the Chinese transaction. Unless maybe they are moving production offshore?

Hook lodged their Dec24 accounts today which is fast but probably due to the merger. Going concern as expected but £50m cash remains, so after slashing staff and programs they must have thought that with prepayments in place was enough to go it alone for the time being. Merger costs for them 1.3 million to 31 December. Last word from me on that lot here.

Solar should read factory 2

Ken the news is there, Mellon is just not on the ball. Solar just got given a 10m euro grant for engineering prep on factory 1 and has a new Italian JV product into the US. Onego should get GRAS status soon, then can sell into the US as well. Tropic launch their first commercial product in a couple of weeks. It has been cleared as non GMO. Formo has expanded to Denmark with an online distribution channel.

How much cash did they burn through on the merger attempt and how much is left? It is ok being capital light but what progress if any has been made towards clinical trials in the past year? Do they still need to maintain a sales team when there is nothing to sell?. Has the AI agreement with the NASDAQ company produced anything? Is it still alive?

I’m more interested in 1. Are they profitable 2. If not is there a short and cheap pathway to profit. 3. Is there a large market they can continue to differentiate their product 4. Can they demonstrate scale up. It doesn’t really matter with the macro economics if they are not demonstrating these things. Can you point to a decent commercial contract or retail sales growth outside of Revolut? I’m all ears.

In everyday use across the world according to the 2020 accounts- somewhat economical with the truth IMO. 23 hospitals in the UK, NW region was the strong point but that sales manager quit, still to be replaced, may struggle after reading Glassdoor reviews.

I obviously look at sources you don’t, like the Clinical Trials database, NICE website, WIPO, who is attending the training but promoting the competition,job sites, employee feedback and similar. I appreciate any factual input but if anyone is skimming the surface it is not me.

They pay the sales managers peanuts so they usually attract the matching calibre. However they did snag the South American sales manager for Olympus, which is a heavy hitter. However you would have to ask why he was unable to build sales growth, although it looks like he was responsible for the decent regional training program. I see a big pile of free handouts like last year but no sales growth yet. Maybe a technology sharing agreement with a bigger player, I would be happy with that.

They haven’t a hope in hell of doing £8m core sales on the next year. At least they are making efforts to find out what they need to build in order to sell. Interesting that one of the competition seems to have attended as well.

Thanks Jason, didn’t even think to check about Kelly. That kills my Irish conspiracy theory, although CF isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so maybe not.

Kelly would have brought the deal to the table because he has a history with Hook. He obviously thought there was legs in the merger . Maybe there was some politics involved but I think it was more likely they didn’t have the bookbuild for the recapitalisation so needed any committed funds for their own program. The down side is that Gilead certainly had a deeper dive into POLB and didn’t force the deal through. Won’t have to wait long for the next steps as the egg timer is running out on the cash for both parties.

Creo hires plenty of media consultants and their website has improved substantially. They tend to post on the socials like Linkdin, rather than traditional media and do a fairly slick job. Where they are missing is in the medical technical write ups as the product buyers are only going to trust these sources.

I’m impressed if you think anyone reading this can add any meaningful implications for the ONT holding. Every man and his dog is using some sort of AI powered gene sequencing and predictive tools now, not just Roche.

The only guarantee is that the forward projection will look very rosy because it always does. As for current performance, restructuring, AI transformation, all badged up as one off costs impacting results but green shoots…….you know the gist. Same old.

Despite almost no producers and approved for consumption virtually nowhere and no-one with scale manufacturing , there was supposedly 1 billion USD in sales last year. 1 percent of that would be an exaggeration. Yet another article with no credibility at all.

Needs the NICE recommendation which is 2 years minimum away and/or the clinical trials to finish. Otherwise it is word of mouth for now.
