Even though NCYT’s Share Price has come down today, it’s still 72% higher than it was towards the end of November. I can be grateful for small mercies, but I’m still under water with my investment.
The share price in November was absurdly low. One of the reasons was that people thought Covid was a thing of the past and so much of NCYT’s sales had been Covid related. The recent news has brought the Covid environment back to the investors mind and the share price responded. It’s logical that NCYT would benefit but its all speculation.
For the SP to get to where it should be, I think we need to:
1. See positive news on sales – and I’m not holding my breath on the update expected later this month. Once the company sorts itself out, finds a good new CEO and markets their products well, then the business can take off.
2. Find a resolution of the legal issues. DHSC are suing us for £134.6m and we suing them for £81.5m. However long this dispute takes, it’s key to the SP performance.
3. Pursue mergers and acquisitions. The company outlined that was another key driver of its future financial growth.
4. See some good fortune. A few answers to prayer. Anything that brings the pieces of the jigsaw together to make a stunning picture. I'm sure it will come, but I need patience.

Nobody wants to see a company struggling. Employees lose their livelihoods, the local economy suffers and investors lose out big time. Jumping on to the blame game, finding who’s fault it is, is not very useful but honestly understanding and reflecting on the problems is necessary. We don’t want to repeat past mistakes but if the company has just been unlucky, well there’s little they can do about that. The focus has to be on the future, and to see what opportunities are out there and how we can take advantage of them. If the AGM presentations can give everyone confidence that the directors are working on that vision, then it will have been a good meeting. I won’t be at the AGM but I’m sure everyone will be wishing the company well.
And arguing on this forum doesn’t really help anyone.

Just noticed that to sell ABDX shares, HL are quoting 3.50p. If you try and sell it's 3.675p at the time of typing. I can't remember it ever being this low before. Pumpky was wondering if the BoD would have some surprises before the AGM. I can't see it happening. I bet the BoD themselves are looking anxiously at the SP. Although it may be the slow Christmas period that's exacerbating it.
My "paper losses" are growing.

Many of us are frustrated at the lack of news from HEMO on various product lines. I rarely think about what Vlad or any other entrepreneur wants from investors. They have an initial great idea and need financial backing. Shareholders invest in the idea and hope the company rewards them in due time. I always think of an initial investor as being someone who has plenty of money, is happy to take a long term view and accepts it can be a risky business. There is an expectation of rewards, financial or altruistic. Keeping in touch with investors is necessary At worst, just the annual report and accounts but quarterly updates are better.
Then investors sell shares to other people who have little interest in the product, but look for a capital gain in the shortest possible timescale. That’s when we become desperate for news from Vlad. I don’t think we can expect Vlad to care less about our ability to make a profit selling shares in his company. He doesn’t need the distraction of profit hungry investors (me included). His work is the important thing.
This board is great for finding out information, but we are on the outside looking in and we speculate. That works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn’t. I see no alternative to remaining patient and waiting to see what transpires. It’s tragic if we have to sell and make a loss. A paper loss is bad enough, but we have enough encouragement here that future HEMO’s progress should reward us in the coming year. That doesn’t totally take away the risks though!

crl123, one thing I genuinely don't understand is that if the shareholder revolt happened as you suggested, and we voted the Board of Directors out of office, who then finds new directors to replace them?
Personally, I'm 80% down on my investment. If I sell my shares I lose that money. I can only hope that in the coming year or two that someone will turn the company around. That can take a couple of years, whereas we are all expecting it to be a couple of months. The lack of information from the company is frustrating and feeds the negative feelings among shareholders. I would rather we give the negative thoughts a rest for several months. Look for the positives even if they are hard to find. It would make us feel better and readers of this board wouldn't be put off from investing. At this price it should be a reasonable investment. But who knows.

I'm in two minds as to whether I want good news at the moment. With the stock market the way they are, they seem to discount good news very quickly. Abingdon had two lots of good news recently regarding the Good Law project and caused a welcome spike in the share price, but then after a few days it was back to where it was before. I know traders jump in to get their 10%'s etc. With HEMO as Mr. India points out, people are selling at ridiculously low prices. If it moves up significantly there will be one all mighty rush for the exits, to get their 10% profits - and good luck to them. If I knew there would be a Bear market soon, then I think the good news would be more beneficial. I'm only speculating here, of course. Who knows what the future holds.

Waiting for news from HEMO reminds me of the holiday car journeys we went on, when I was a child. I’d be shouting “are we nearly there yet.” The answer was invariably “no”. That’s like asking for news from HEMO. If I made too much noise I’d be told not to distract the driver. Maybe we need to give Vlad the space he needs to do his job and not distract him with demands for information. The next worry was, “will we like it when we get there”. I hoped so then and we usually did. I hope so for HEMO. My finances are counting on it.

Graham Mullis didn't do anything to us personally. Novacyt would be the people to take action against him if they felt he acted improperly. A judge would probably say to us, that we knew that share ownership had both its risks and rewards and that we've learned that the hard way.

Being a PI it’s always frustrating when we are trying to build up a jigsaw picture of what is really happening in Novacyt and what their prospects are in the future, but there are always so many pieces missing. Without knowing what is happening in the company we just have to sit and wait until something magically happens.
I think the share price will just keeping drifting with the ebb and flow of the stock market tide until the markets can see we have something worth selling and that there are many customers out there wanting to buy it. Then we can start motoring upwards.
We criticise the company for issuing RNS’s with a negative element and that depresses the selling price. When you see the drop off in sales since Covid, then they were probably right to add that negative element. I haven’t given up hope but the 5 years target to achieving £100m might well take the full 5 years and my shareholding will continue to look rather sick until then.
Is DA doing a good job? Without knowing the full picture it's difficult to say. The SP doesn’t reflect well on DA and BoD.

I think Pumpky's 420,901 share purchase is being shown as a sell. I bought a more modest 70,492 shares and that shows as a sell too. These computer systems aren't always very good are they.

B2HS2L. Thank you for preparing the transcript. I couldn't bring myself to watch the AGM live, as I remember how boring last year's was, but reading the questions and answers was very useful. I think turning the ship around after Covid will take a long time. There is nothing I can do to speed things up, but I just have to hope the BoD will succeed in their endeavours. The past is the past. I can only hope the future is better. GLA.

The EGM was all about issuing shares and options etc. to employees I think.

I averaged down from 2.8p to 2.1p some time ago, but am sitting with a 45% loss at the moment. I'm not investing anymore in shares at the moment. After doing quite well last year on shares in general, this year has been a disaster, so I sit and wait! It's just numbers on a spreadsheet for me at the moment, but when I need the money it will become more serious. We just have to wait for the bear market to turn to bull and for Vlad to perform some wonderful manoeuvres with the science and the market place.

If the BOD were all to stand down at the AGM, wouldn't that leave us with a rudderless ship? I can't see that helping the SP. I'm as frustrated as everyone else with the ever decreasing value of my shares and yet I have some sympathies with the BOD. NCYT react to health problems with solutions, and when its a big problem and they have a big solution they do very well financially. We may be developing good new products, but "do they scratch where people are itching". I'm resigned to waiting a good period of time for the next successful problem/solution to happen. I'm sure it will one day, but who knows when.

I don't seem to be able to edit a pdf file (my lack of knowledge) so I printed the form, wrote on it and signed it. Then photographed it on my mobile phone and sent it back to Mandy at mandy.cowling@novacyt.com.
That was acceptable. She also needs proof of your shareholding. At Hargreaves Lansdown I have the option to download a statement of all my shares, so I sent that along too. Other people may have a better way of doing it but my clunky way worked for me!! Just one thing I would say, if you feel Novacyt are, as you say, a bunch of clowns, then it would still be good to be polite when communicating with them. Mandy isn't responsible for the lack of communication. My worry is that they might not have anything good to communicate at the moment. All my shares are struggling and I'm viewing them as long term holds. I'm sure it will come good in time. I'm in trouble if they don't. Hope that helps.

Mr India….. I don’t have sufficient knowledge to predict when the rerate might happen. I think announcements of progress are helpful but I think the markets are waiting for news of incoming £’s or $’s from business deals. I’d hope to see the SP improve by the autumn but please don’t follow my guesstimates.

I sympathise with you Mr. India. I’ve stopped expecting any short term miracle rerate but have confidence in the longer term. I’m sure it will prove to be a good investment. If you need the £30k to invest elsewhere I’m not sure I’d bother but if you genuinely need it for something else you may have to sell. Like you, I don’t understand people selling so cheaply but some are looking for quick gains and moving in. I’d rather be a LTH in this share than be a trader.
