HEMO / MD Anderson links1 Aug 2025 11:34
I'm not as clued up as everyone else and was slightly unclear about the links between HEMO and MD Anderson. I found a good explanation (on AI) which helped clarify things for me, and might be helpful for others too.
Here's how the relationship between Hemogenyx and MD Anderson plays out:
🧬 Hemogenyx Pharmaceuticals
Role: Developer and manufacturer of the HEMO-CAR-T therapy.
Focus: Creating next-generation CAR-T treatments for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), among other innovations.
Responsibility: Produces the therapeutic product, handles regulatory submissions (like the IND application to the FDA), and oversees the scientific and technical aspects of the therapy2.
🏥 MD Anderson Cancer Center
Role: Clinical trial site and treatment provider.
Focus: Administering the HEMO-CAR-T therapy to patients as part of Phase I trials.
Responsibility: Conducts the actual treatment, monitors patient outcomes, and contributes clinical data to assess safety and efficacy2.
So in essence, Hemogenyx is the biotech innovator, while MD Anderson is the clinical powerhouse helping bring that innovation to patients. It’s a classic biotech–hospital partnership: one builds the tool, the other tests it in the real world.
If you're tracking your investment, this collaboration is a strong signal — MD Anderson’s involvement lends credibility and clinical rigor to Hemogenyx’s work.
