Well said Pecten - exactly what I was trying to express in previous post, but better put!

Sandy - I tell you what's doubly bizarre - one minute he says he has shares the next he hasn't. I don't give a flying f'ck whether he has or he hasn't; but if he has, he has a perverse way of expecting to ever get any value back in them, if he hasn't, well, then either way one has to have concern for his sanity.
But I do care when he publicly and repeatedly calls into question the integrity of a company, its officers, and indeed other shareholders using false information...

That's factually incorrect Dodge. SSGI WERE paid installments (I can't remember the exact numbers off the top of my head) it was the last installment which was outstanding because Merc pulled out. If you're going to continue with your de-ramp at least get your facts right.
You COULD argue that Merc didn't 'f@ck Vast over' as you put it, they pulled out for their own reasons, and it was Andrew's mistake not to have continued negotiations with backstop alternatives which resulted in Bergen. I was myself very critical of that - I told him directly - and I know he has learned from that mistake (and before you say it, yes we all suffered as a result). For my own part I've put it behind me, have turned it into a positive by taking advantage of the resultant bargain share price, and am looking forward to a lot of good news in the near future which will more than rectify the situation.

Actually Piker if you listen to the last podcast you'll hear Prelea state specifically that they are working very closely with and have developed a very good working relationship with Mercuria who have even been helping him find alternative arrangements. Doesn't necessarily mean the offtake deal will be back on with Merc themselves, I grant you, but it would appear they are still very much on the scene, and being the size they are, and their entrenchment in the sector generally, I'd say they are capable of being pretty useful. Rubbish. The past is rendered less and less relevant the more the company transforms itself to take advantage of the new opportunities be it BP, Blueberry, diamonds etc and looking forward, Carlababa and Zagra (and Remin generally) and other possible diamond concessions.. Even the people involved have changed with AP now surrounded by new - and it would appear - competent and highly experienced - people in all aspects of the business. Yes, I agree, they have some proving and convincing to do, but as a team and with the assets they now have to work with, I'd say Vast is worthy of a great deal more benefit of doubt and respect than you are prepared to give it.

Precisely. AP doesn't 'groom' shareholders! - and both he and most of the shareholders to whom I assume you refer (I assume I am one!) are too bright to think or put up with that. He is relatively young, he has made mistakes, he doesn't have decades of mining experience. But as far as I can see (amd I've seen some horrors in my time!) he is entrepreneurial, dedicated, hard working and has seen sense to surround himself with people who DO have decades of mining experience. And his actions are followed closely by a good few knowlegeable shareholders with substantial holdings who he knows will not take bullsh@t and with whom he has the sense to keep regular (but never inapproriate, in my experience anyway) contact with. George Roach he is not, and we should all be thankful for that!

I still follow but don't hold SML any more. Which is mainly why I don't post on their bulletin board... and certainly don't try to troll my way back in at a lower price at other holders' expense.

That's interesting - I follow SML but don't recall you posting anything on their board eh Dodge? It's hardly been the raciest share to hold in recent times, either...

I've just been re-looking at diamonds.
At start up = 100-150 tonnes/hour
1 carat/tonne average
= 87500 carats/month
at $85-$100/carat
= $100m/year
And those are all pretty conservative assumptions - and it's just alluvials, and it's just what we have on the cards already, not including possible other concessions...).

Suki - true - but it's not just the £60m assets (well it is i suppose!) - they are genuinely world class assets and it's what's behind them waiting in the wings (that'll be probably the biggest copper mine in Europe and possibly even the World, remember!), and the promise of speed to free cashflow which they carry which is the real excitemtent. I believe there are precious few small mining companies around with this sort of prospect, troubled history or no troubled history.

Then if I was you I'd sell what I have left and find something else (that's not advice btw lol). It's madness to have money tied in a place where you obviously carry so much mistrust and the misery isn't good for your soul or your blood pressure! Even looking ahead there are likely to be hiccups and I too have had misgivings and recent past events have engendered thoughts of selling, but then I look again at what's there, to the future and remind myself that value will out in the long run, and try to engineer myself some advantage from the situation (usually by buying even more of the damned things!)..

Lots of bundling on the Vast board if you want idle entertainment - mainly by someone who admits he/she doesn't actually own any shares. Bizarre people

Hey Angus. You can sit on your backside and type woe-is-me stuff backing Mr Cut-and-Paste Dodge and bemoaning others' positivity (yes, in the face of difficult times I agree) all you like. Or you can get off that backside and away from the keyboard warmongering and go and take another look at the amazing assets which Vast has to offer (at ridiculous prices) and if you still don't like what you see, go and find yourself an investment which you think has better prospects (I think you'll struggle!). And that goes for Dodge and all the other absurd see-only-negatives naysayers. Please!
