Idmor - your conment re a £12k sell being 'someone in the know' is as bizarre as it is cretinous, even by your Doctorate standards of deramping. Come on man (or woman), even you can do better than that!
Like many other people I often buy and sell £12k or more of shares -not just Vast - for all sorts of reasons, sometimes even on a whim or because I'm bored. But never (sadly!) because I'm 'in the know'!

Echo we all know that many shares would be up by a margin which would take this way beyond 0.85 on this sort of news. But this is off most peoples' radars so likely to smoulder slowly. And hopefully one day the buried fireworks will take light. Which is fine by me.

Isas that's all very well (and not necessarily unreasonable) but to be fair there was a lot of unreasoned uneducated unresearched misguided and almost certainly incorrect 'it's all a big fraudulent conspiracy theory' being bandied around in what appeared to be a mischief making manner. Sandy was merely correctly and informatively pointing out - backed up by Pikey's excellent and useful posts (and even Angus's post earlier) - that the conspiracy theory is at best misguided and at worst 'fake news' to suit certain peoples' agenda.
Somebody suggested the other day that some of us 'old lags' round here only come on to defend AP and the company and no longer provide any useful information. I suppose I fall into this category, I've a pretty in-depth and long-collated knowledge of the company which I used to be happy to share, but no longer post other than when I occasionally feel compelled to defend from the ill-informed/ignorant - not necessarily AP or the BoD in particular - my not-inconsiderable, and not-inconsiderably researched, investment in this company which I still believe will come good eventually (and hopefully soon).

Sandy, Castaway, Emma - agree wholeheartedly with what you all say. Dodge - for once I agree with you too with you on your last post lol. For the same reasons as Sandy I don't bother coming on here any more, can't see the point, have better things to do with my time and energy than reading/arguing with moronic repetition of how **** Vast is (and character bashing). And I'm certainly not supportive of some cretinous notion to remove Andrew, at least until he's had fair chance to prove his worth. It'll be interesting to see how the next few days and weeks pan out. Good luck to all the loyal LTHs! As for the rest of you...

Not necessarily true - it depends who the investor was who bought all those shares in the placing and whether or not they have sold forward/intend to sell or hold, doesn't it.

I just heard the sad news this morning. I gather he fought a brave fight to the end. His gentlemanly humour and spirit will be missed by many around these parts I am sure. RIP Wassatt.

Mikey I've looked at IQAI too - I get the impression that the prospects for the product are pretty good but am no sector expert so can't comment with any conviction, but I do feel uneasy about the motives/bona fides of certain people involved at major shareholder level (and the broker, and their cosy relationship) so have desisted from investment myself. Good luck with it nevertheless!

Daz I get what you're saying but I suspect from experience that I may be at least partly right in this instance - but it'll be interesting to see what happens either way, won't it! How about some good news to give it a go...?!

Daz, Strudel, Isas, TBTT - Retail investors are protected (to a substantial degree anyway) by the FSCS but as you say it will likely be weeks (probably months) before the shares are released. There is a precedent here with Beaufort a few months ago - I gather everyone got their shares/money back it just took ages.
It shouldn't affect Vast directly unless they owed them any money (unlikely!) other than temporary suspension of a chunk of its retail client base , and they already have another broker - but it will be, er, interesting to see any effect of that 'freezing' of a substantial chunk of the shares in issue. It's also potentially rather more than the 600-odd million shares Daz mentioned as there could be an additional effect of T20 gearing (could be up to say 3x?).

JL I don't post here these days because I don't hold any more either - I gave up on it and took an at-least-equal battering on some other shonky shares in equally exotic postcodes! The temptation to cash out what's left and buy a Lamborghini is not inconsiderable!
