On the one hand you're right, at this price it looks vulnerable.
On the other hand any would-be predator would have to consider that the vested combined interests of Africa Finance Corp, Polenergia and Michael Howarth together own well over 30%, then a couple of significant private shareholders together own over another 10%. They ain't going to easily get away with nicking it cheaply! (then again I thought that about Ithaca).

Fantastic (re)interview. I won't bore by repeating what': just been said but that NPV and DCF will be massive especially if those new higher tariffs can be sustained. Critically important points about Moz and the IMF - worth bearing in mind as a precursor to what will hopefully happen imminently in Zim too. Amazing stuff.

Quepensa - exactly, the best part, in all the board-bashing and moaning, everyone seems to have inconveniently forgotten the size and synergies of the various assets. A significant piece of the jigsaw installed and a very good step forward imo (and about time too eh, but hey!).

To be fair I don't think it means NCCL will be the recipient of a 60m cheque, Hanno always said that some of the reimbursement would be used to maximise the economic interest in the overall project, and we still don't know what the actual terms of getting/keeping the 40% are. That is not in any way a muffled deramp by the way, I think this is massive and should be recognised as such, I'm just keeping my expectations realistic.

Mike29 I think you may be thinking of the USD20m referred to in a recent presentation which covered the power plant only, which i think they said only accounts for about a third of the total project (i think in addition you've got to bear in mind mine cost, transmission, financing, shared infrastucture etc etc).

As we avariciously count our paper profits and (rightly) predict share prices of 15p/20p/30p/more or whatever, let's not forget the importance of this deal at a human level - it's going to be life changing for a lot of people in the country. It deserves, and will hopefully get, huge press for that alone.

If it gets decent press (which it should) it'll fly. It's a huge deal for such a tiny company, as someone else said it's one of the biggest ever for an AIM co. %age looks ok for now at least). And the nature of the project means that sensible funding should be relatively easy to get without daft dilution. And costs reimbursed 2x the mcap.

Either way, assuming the placing (oh no not again!) is committed then as someone said earlier it's currently priced to fail, which seems anomalous to me. Not a ramp, just a calculated observation!

I agree - the statement is a bit ambiguous/unclear for such a lot of shares. They say they aren't bothering to underwrite it which suggests it's been committed already. But who knows - perhaps a clarification phone call is in order.

Sounds like it to me - further endorsement/investment from Shell and BA, project funded. Market seems to have missed it.
