Wait for Boohoo to turn around and make sure it has turned around before buying any Boohoo shares.

Oke - no, not at all. Yes, you're right it is illegal. So it looks like MA would have to declare any puts he has on Boohoo or on ASOS.

Oke - I think it may depend on whether he made a formal agreement to buy the shares when he took out the put.

Oke - I don't think puts and calls have to be declared because you don't actually own the shares.

I think it's only if you buy the actual shares as a result of a put or call, then you have to declare it.

Oke - you buy puts through your broke,r if you think the share prices will go down and also to hedge against losses if you're holding the shares. And calls are the opposite, you think the share price will go up. Puts and calls are cheaper than buying the actual shares. You have to be extremely careful. The owner of Quinnsworth in Ireland, like Woolsworth, lost billions on calls on Anglo Irish Bank which went down and down and down. He ended up bankrupt.

He held on thinking they would go back up again and of course they never did and the Irish Government bought out Anglo Irish Bank.

A further reason not to hold losing calls or losing shares.

Remember Mike Ashley uses puts when he buys shares in the likes of ASOS, etc. These instruments are used as hedges against losses.

I mean people gloating on here if the share price goes up a wee bit or getting all excited about ASOS possibly being taken over. This is all emotional attachment to shares.

I'm doing my best to lose emotional attachment and it works so much better for me.

Share price to me is about momentum and people jumping into it. Look at RCGH, RC 365 Holding. Gone crazy because it has a small attachment to AI. It's value is about 20p or even less and it's now at over 70p. AI is the new dot.com phase. so, for me, it is supply and demand. Also there's a pump and dump going on with RCGH. This has happened in US and now come to UK. A letter posted about the share on all social media websites. People read it and jump in. This happened in about May and RCGH went from 20p to about 170p and back down to 50p. The letter is doing the social media rounds again starting about last Thursday and RCGH has jumped again from 50p to over 70p.

Be careful out there.

Losing emotional attachment to shares also helps you not to gloat when the share price goes up.

This type of pump and dump has been going on in the US and now moved to the UK. They put put a letter on all social media with different signatures at the end of it saying this could go up 1000%

The problem is posters are too emotionally attached to their shares and can't cope with anything negative about them. Emotional attachment to shares is the worst place to be.

I've been there, done it, got the t shirt and trying my best to learn not to be emotionally attached to any shares. Losing the emotional attachment helps you to look at the negatives without fear.

Pipedreamer - you're so right. I'm watching a few at present for a turnaround. Tullow has dropped nearly 4p today because of the military coup in Gabon.

Thank you pipedreamer - I look to invest a small amount, then put more in, if the share price goes up. I may be in for a few weeks or months. Then I find another one and so on. They're out there. I wait for the turnaround and watch it from there to be sure it's turned, rather than going in at the bottom.
