You haven't learn how to move on from a share that's losing you money.

Fortunately I have. There are loads of shares out there where you can make money if you do the work. Sticking with a share that's losing you money and putting more money into it a recipe for disaster. Fear and greed are the worst reasons for investing in shares. I know I've been there, done it, got the t shirt. More importantly, I've learnt from it, changed my strategy which works for me, thankfully.

This is what you need to be doing, if you want to make money from shares.

I was thinking the £200m marketing spend for Boohoo for this year could be £230m. I think I might have got my calculation wrong there too.

BestSeller is the holder through a subsidiary, I think it is. They aren't interested in buying ASOS, they've held nearly 25% of ASOS since 2010.

TYes pipedreamer, you're right, too much time spent on chat boards takes me away from making money. So, I need to stay off them and concentrate more on making real money. I tried to help posters on here. Unfortunately, they've got their heads in the sand. They're too emotionally attached to Boohoo.

I understand because I've been there myself. Fortunately, I'm learning.

Oke - I can't see Boohoo managing to get about £200m for their marketing spend out of cost of sales reductions.

I think Boohoo managed about £100m for fy 2023 from stock inventory reductions. Do you really think they can manage £200m from cost of sales reductions?

Boohoo have forecast a marketing spend of 13% of revenue which is about £200m for fy 2024. The fcf for fy 2023 was from reducing stock inventory which they can't do in fy2024. It's already been done. So no fcf available for fy2024. It looks to me like the approx £200m marketing spend of about £200m will have to come out of the revolving credit facility of £325m.

Boohoo generated fcf from reducing their stock inventory for fy 2023. They can't do this again.

Oke - try to consider the opposite of what's said by any company in presentations, etc. You'll get a fairer picture of what's really going on.

It is when you aren't making any profit. Marketing spend is huge when you've no profit and you're having to borrow the money for it.
