unfortunately it's almost always non-news but is spending cash.

There have been 2 well interventions (rather than surface works) we know about since Portland production began at HH.

the first was optimising production by reperforating the Portland interval, putting the downhole pump deeper and a new production completion in October / November 2020. Lots of excitement on twitter and here - 300bopd predicted by some following the works.
Average Production across that workover:-
August 2020 - 128 bopd
September 93 bopd,
October 47bopd, works in progress
November 101 bopd,
December 81 bopd

So that didn't work.

The recent work in July replaced the downhole pump - we won't know whether that's made any difference to production (probably not) until August's production is published by the NSTA in December.

otherwise a new higher capacity (1000bopd) and more efficient linear rod pump was installed in May 2020 soon after production started in March, but that didn't make any difference but got some posters and tweeters very excited.

and there were also surface works last August / September that Adrian tried to infer were to do with HH-2z but were for the 'first tranche of permanent facility equipment required under the Health and Safety Executive's Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations'.

Maybe this work with a crane is the second tranche?

Before the OGA published the HH production figures Adrian was claiming that production had improved in December 2020 and January 2021 (108bopd) it hadn't - was about 60bopd.

Where do I say anything about a picture of a pump - yes the picture is of a tanker which you mention in the tweet - you are also tweeting about the pump - you claim to know so much about the site but don't know the downhole pump to pump requires the surface pump to be working- I can only assume you didn't see any pump working let alone working well, despite saying it was working well?

and you tweeted on 14th July (not 4th July) - 'New pump fitted working well' - the downhole pump doesn't work without the surface pump so both must have been fitted. Both statements cannot be true.

I’d say never trust someone who says he sees something he hasn’t.

Adrian in October on twitter - surface pump not on HH-1 all July (‘the pump was off the well all of July‘) but on 14 July tweets:- ‘New pump fitted working well’.

Unfortunately even if, as you claim, you were only tweeting about the downhole pump it can’t be seen (it’s downhole) and needs the surface pump to work, let alone ‘work well’.

I’m well aware that the 189barrels produced in July were from just a few days production – but why didn’t they resume production in July – please don’t claim it was because they were working on HH-2z, they continued flowing HH-1 while drilling HH-2/2z.

Then there’s the rubbish you posted about production in December 2021 (and much the same for January 2022):- ‘I make it more than 100 bopd at HH since intermittent pumping resumed in September."

Here’s a prediction – the water reinjector well isn’t up and running today, and unless you have x-ray vision pictures won’t show anything, until UKOG RNS news that they are converting the well I’ll stick to my view it hasn’t happened.

I’d be very wary of someone who makes claims he knows what's going on because he watches the site every now and then – and then makes stuff up - not forgetting that Adrian makes up that anyone he disagrees with is green, except when he's deramping when even his 'mates' come in for abuse.

We as a nation, or at least those companies involved in onshore exploration, have explored extensively and drilled many high risk wells pursuing every reasonable sized prospect onshore UK. Fracking is a more recent consideration and there have been a considerable number of wells penetrating the two main shale targets (Kimmeridge and Bowland) and there are differing opinions about the suitability of either for fracking. The unfinished test could have answered at least some questions.

As for UKOG Godley Bridge wasn't developed because of uncertainty in the structural mapping (and tested at a fairly low rate). Nothing UKOG have said they have done suggests much in the way of amelioration of the risks in depth conversion identified when the structure was appraised by GB-2 / 2z and Alfold - apart from 'finding' a previously unnoticed gas column in Alfold.

As I keep pointing out predicting that the projects may not be as successful as UKOG claim, and giving reasons that turn out to be correct is being honest about the projects, in fact even my posts shouted down for being negative are usually far more positive than the outcomes.

It isn't posting on this board that has depressed the SP it's UKOG being over optimistic then failure after failure coupled with placing after placing with little income arising from the huge expenditure.

This is a board about UKOG and I'm surprised that the discussion isn't about how successful Loxley might be and how much reliance can be given to figures put out by the company about this exploration / appraisal well. I'm assuming Loxley will be drilled and the high court squabbling will be long gone in UKOG's favour before any changes to planning come into effect or any infrastructure funding is available from the fracking fund - so it is up to UKOG to get on and farm it out (good opportunity missed this am to mention progress on that), get all the planning conditions sorted and get it drilled.

But even if Loxley is drilled and successfully tested and has proved reserves of anything like the mean / mid case (about gross 43BCF) it would be a very small contribution to energy security needing 4 wells to produce initially a total of 4 to 5BCF a year (between 11 and 14mmcf/d) accorrding to UKOG. Given the stated 20 year production profile that suggestseven these initial rates, in the success case, aren't sustained for long.

However, to date, in the case of HH, predicted rates per well were massively over optimistic so are these Loxley predictions believable. Until the well is drilled, just on the past record of predicted vs actual outcomes by UKOG, they appear to be highly speculative.

Big words from Sanderson and again suggesting yet anther of UKOG's projects is of national importance before the well is drilled and tested - just like HH and BB - Basur was in Turkey so was 'only transformational.

Of coursemhe is bigging up the decision but words are cheap and having failed to deliver on every previous nationally important / transformational project what reliance is there that this time it will be true.

Onshore there isn't much in the way of production so doubling it would be insignificant in terms of replacing imports - and also isn't going to happen any time soon.

Geothermal is very niche though - needs the right kind of geology - solar much less so.

BTW one of the wells has been shut in since 2019 - HH-2z - waiting for the conversion to an injector which UKOG don't seem to be in a hurry to do despite the riches claimed by 'bestie' - huge increase in production and savings on water disposal, from January this year:-

So just doubling (from a conservative 50bopd) that's going to be an extra £120,000 a month just for the extra production - since permission was granted that would be £600,000 - say it would have taken a month (they were given a months notice before May that the EA was 'minded' to grant the permit - so £480,000 plus the water saving minimum.

Apart from Adrian's claims that SS is lazy or expletives can anyone explain why it isn't a priority? But flailing around in Turkey hoping leads turn into drillable targets is?

My view - it carries significant risk and relatively expensive - and won't increse production 2 or 3 times.

Last time they 'optimised' HH-1 (new rods, new downhole pump, reperforation and new completion in late 2020) production went from 128bopd (26% water cut) in August 2020 before the works to an average of 102bopd (34% water cut) in January 2021. Before the July work production averaged 53bopd and 38% water cut.

It's an average over the month- though it means they produced about 180bbls of oil while Adrian tweets that the pump was off all of July except of course it wasn't according to his 14 July tweet - see my earlier post. Meanwhile in the nursery he's stamping his feet and doubling down on the no pump theory:-

August may be an anomaly either way after a shut in - September we'll see whether the new downhole and topside pump makes a difference.

At Brockham Angus said that it was producing an average of 50bopd (interims end June 'current average rates of production from the BRX2-Y well are 50 barrels of oil per day' NSTA figures showed an average of 10bopd in July and less in June.

Not sure it's a compelling argument - though is a new downhole pump in HH-1 linked to water injection at HH-2z? Last time they messed around with HH-1 production dropped (Oct / Nov 2020).

Wonder what the August figure will look like for HH-1 after a shut in for most of July.

So there was and wasn't a pump on HH-1 in July, there was and wasn't an oil tanker in July and they did and didn't do anything to HH-2z in July - and Adrian says anyone he doesn't agree with lies when he just makes it up as he goes along.

I guess he just tweets what suits him at the time - funny no mention of working on HH-2z in July until now when he's in ramp mode.

When the site was being worked on for HSE COMAH regulations in 2021 he was tweeting a lot about the HH-2z conversion then.

All UKOG said was they installed new downhole pump and new topside pump and in August RNS'd 'Preparatory work towards converting HH-2z into a produced saline water reinjector continues' - note 'continues' in August while they were producing

To properly prepare HH-2z for injection they will need a rig or coiled tubing unit - why would they shut down HH-1 to play with the surface equipment of HH-2z. In fact we known they carried on testing HH-1 while they drilled HH-2/2z - 9 Oct 2019 RNS:-

I'm not a member of Weald Action Group.

I don't live in the Weald nor am I supporter - I have posted that their claims of fracking are wrong and despite my views on the risks of Loxley I have never suggested it shouldn't be drilled nor suggested Horse Hill shouldn't be exploited, in fact I've posted that UKOG should concentrate efforts there - I've posted that fracking needs to be tried in the Bowland shale but is unlikely to work for extracting oil from the Kimmeridge.

You also seem to be confused as you previously claimed, again incorrectly, that I'm a disgruntled investor.

Being right so far that in my opinion UKOG's projects wouldn't be as good as UKOG claimed is not the same as saying they shouldn't waste money trying - that's exploration.

UKOG's failures have nothing to do with any activism - and the country's woes are in part because the conservative government failed to support gas storage projects, failed to allow the shale fracking test to proceed to a conclusion and stalled offshore licensing and developments.

As for UKOG, having won the Loxley appeal in July - no progress; HH-2z conversion permission in May - in August 2022 preparations continue; Basur-4 - not in the UK but waiting for seismic processing and new interpretation in September 2022, Basur-3 having failed in July 2021. Posting on this board has not stopped UKOG doing anything they want to do, and the SP is where it is because of failure after failure and placing after placing - BTW saying wells or projects might fail doesn't make them fail - if they then fail it's called being right.

Perhaps ells and ocelot (and others) need to read the so called negative posts about projects, wells or activities where results are known - might find they were realistic - though more likely over optimistic.

Basing their argument on their view that anybody posting realistically is green or xr doesn't explain specifically what's so good about UKOG's projects - their arguments otherwise are - from ocelot everything's got 'potential' (without reasoning though admittedly the same as UKOG) and ells main argument is invest 'because the SP is 'cheap' and something must work.
