Nickqj - copper is mined globally at less than 0.6% grade, but to the best of my knowledge that only occurs in open pits not underground mines like Baita Plai due to them being relatively speaking more cost efficient. Do you have any examples of underground mines that are profitable at 0.6% Cu ?

BOD is still a loss making company (most explo/mining companies on AIM are) and it has no immediate sources of revenue.

Yes, JC and team may have found another kimberlite pipe (fingers crosses) but the macro economy situation isnt great for getting cash to do anything with a find, so it will need a lot of evidence to persuade someone to wants to buy TR (or BOD)

Jethro - someone may well correct me but, broadly speaking, based on a 25% concentrate
Concentrate produced (268 tonnes) divided by tonnes milled (11292 tonnes) x100 divided by 4 (25% concentrate)
Equals 0.593% grade.
Wont be quite as simple as that as recovery % during processing would have an effect ( iirc testwork showed around 90%, so net milled tonnes would be 10162), so that would imply 0.659%

Ben, 0.6% Cu could be considered viable in an open pit scenario, but think it unlikely anyone would open a new underground mine at that grade.

Obviously we know that doesnt directly apply to Baita, but grade is still crucial. I cant remember how (or even if it was correct) but I estimated that the grade for Q1 was 0.5%, so 0.6% is obviously moving in the right direction.

However, I had hoped for far more, especially after VAST said in the Q1 figures RNS 'The Company can also confirm that the mining teams have accessed areas of high grade ore on sub-level 2, which supports an increase in the level of concentrate production moving forward.'
Lower grade, means more ore needs to be mined, means higher costs

Nope - the Q&A said forward looking statements would only be released once the mine reaches steady-state production and the exploration drilling is completed.

Yes Steward, iirc the Cu price was approx 10-15% than today when VAST were acquiring BP - although they claimed the copper equivalent grade was more than 4 times higher than was demonstrated in Q2

Sadly not a surprise they have chosen not to include revenue figures as the comparison to Q1 would be very poor.
A third of production now sold into Q3 (worth remembering, as will artificially inflate those figures) at a point of decreasing Cu price
Considering we were originally told (when VAST were acquiring the asset) that Baita had a 2.6% Cu equivalent resource, then a 0.6% grade is shockingly poor
Q3/Q4 tinned mined and grade increase will have to be rise hugely ( a combined factor of at least x10 imo) to avoid yet another financial punch point

Thanks for the reply perro- agree wrt to the focus currently and rightly being on TR - that's sort of why had suggested a royalty agreement or similar as would require less of JC's time but provided a revenue stream to offset TR costs.

Unsure how Covid has affected on the ground activities in Botswana generally so that might have pushed out timelines, just feels a waste that a proven resource and processing plant sit idle, while diamond prices are more positive

Well into 3rd quarter - is that the same as two and a half weeks?
Results - based on previous quarters, we might get results end of July, more likley start of August. And Tajikistan apparently only started processing in Q3, likewise the long hole stoping at Baita has only started this quarter, so what are you expecting in Q2 results?
