Even if your profits are covered by your cgt allowance be aware that you might need to report the sales - the following is from HMRC help pages:
You need to use these pages if your gains are more than the annual exemption for the year or if your sales proceeds are more than £49,200 (for 2020/21) even if your gains are less than £12,300 (for 2020/21).
Mine was the finger prick test. My brother did one two some time before me. He thinks he had Covid back in March (loss of taste and smell which still hasn't resolved) and his test was negative.
My brother also thinks he had it in March when loss of taste and smell weren't considered symptoms at the time. He hasn't got any antibodies but his step daughter has (or did when she had the test a couple of months ago).

Merry Christmas everyone and thanks to those who generously give up their time and share their knowledge.
ATrades, hope you feel better soon. My brother thinks he got it in March but only lost taste and smell. Has got them back slightly but most things smell of sewage and taste awful although he seems to be OK with cakes and biscuits so could be worse. Brussel spouts always smell and taste awful anyway.
I should have added it might be a different process for other companies but I don't know enough and Sirius is the only one I have been involved in to date.
I have taken this from an article about Sirius at the time. A lot of investors were trying to get shares transferred into their name, even if only one.
"And in documents issued to shareholders, Sirius has said it is important that 'as many votes as possible are cast' so that the ballot is 'a fair representation' of investors' opinion. But many backers hold their shares in nominee accounts through brokers, rather than owning them outright.
The only way for a nominee shareholder to be counted as an individual voter is to apply for a paper share certificate, a long process which involves paperwork and can be expensive.
Unless investors go through this process, which can differ from broker to broker, giant shareholder platforms such as Hargreaves Lansdown will only count as a single shareholder when the votes are counted, even though they look after the stakes of many people via nominee accounts."
With regards to voting via a nominee account I had this with Sirius Minerals. In that situation HL asked all the shareholders how they wanted to vote and took the majority view. A nominee vote just counted as one vote so people were taking shares out of the nominee account into their name.
I had a conversation yesterday with a relative who is a senior civil servant. She has advised her sister not to pay for a LFT but to make sure she gets a PCR test - they are doing these at Gatwick from tomorrow.
