We explained the "auditor speak" some time ago - and with respect, this is too damned cheap anyway .And although we all like a bargain, a further fall in this price is really begging for chips. With the current state of reluctance in funding anything that does not appear to be gravy tomorrow, I am rather pleased about the delay to the DFS actually. Give it 6 months or so and this global picture in commodities could experience a dramatic change. I look at the fundamentals and the growth pattern and forecasts in Africa - especially where there is stable government and future demand for this product. Mozambique ring any bells?

Glad to see some positive poster boys roaring out of the woodwork - and a specially eloquent and upbeat piece from pigeons! Pleased you have got the message about the auditors standard warning about "a going concern" - its a slap on the wrist for the Chairman's report NOT including a game plan if the company goes belly-up! Why would he, when in the main, he has only positive news and progress to report? He also talked about "a perfect storm" in the global marketplace giving unfunded and junior miners a nightmare scenario - against which the company has battled through remarkably well in my view. I will be critical when there is something to criticise, and the delay in the DFS report is not ideal at this juncture. But as Pigeons has pointed out - 6 months or so is long enough for a significant change in our favour of factors like price of ore and the funding environment, and that would be handy in future negotiations with Chinese suitors in particular. I re-iterate my point that somebody has to supply at competitive rates the iron and steel that will be demanded by the surging economy in Moz - and no-one is better place than dear old BAO to satisfy that need.

I don't see the overall negativity to this RNS that others take. The "going concern" bit that worries Baldy so much is normal auditor speak for a company that needs confirmation of major funding to realise its business plan. Now we know that the focus for this purpose is on 3 interested parties in China - one a State-owned Steel specialist. With the Chinese all over Mozambique anyway, is this such a big surprise, given the growth forecasts for the country? Someone is going to satisfy the massive demand for iron and steel in the region- so who better than a company with 750m tonnes of iron ore in the heart of Tete province. The Chinese will want to see a full and comprehensive DFS before providing the required financial backing - so if this takes a while longer, so be it. Its a glass half full to me, and at this level no chance of even a minor bail-out as the doubters and jonny-come-latelies run for the hills!

Find myself singing from the same list of carols as conker - and strangely similar in average of 13p after all the dips and peaks since entry in 2010. Disappointed with the negativity posted here, based upon very minor points about repayment of relatively small loans. We know why we are here as a result of shrinking global demand and price slump of iron ore combined with the difficulty of finding substantial financing for the grander project - BUT, guys look at the bigger picture please! Mozambique is forecasted to grow its economy by around 10/12% per annum over the next 10 years - and nobody made this up trbw! To fuel this sort of spectacular growth, the country will need massive amounts of pig iron and steel. Why would they continue to import expensive product when there is a shed load sitting in their own back yard, more specifically in the heart of their main planned industrial complex?? Funding for BAO, either by JV or sole venture capitalisation will arrive either sooner or very slightly later. I trust this BOD to handle a very exciting time for this company, and see a major breakthrough imminent in the early part of 2015.... and a Merry Xmas to all our readers!

Thanks for explaining that one Jib - I would say that AMED are very relaxed about a loan of that size against the potential of this company. If Tradewell is right - and I for one do not doubt his forecast - I would say that they are very relaxed indeed!

Same to you conker and to all posters on here. You would have to be seriously short of Xmas money to be selling this now with all the boxes getting ticked as we move towards the DFS. We need some new and lucky faces on here to enthuse about this share in the New Year. I say lucky because that is exactly what they are to be buying at this level.Roll on 2015!

It is 5 years now since I was in Mozambique for a look round, and there were a number of fairly basic and crude small foundries serving the local metal and steelworking plants. I would imagine that these have expanded with demand by now - but there is sure to be better information on one of the global economy analysis sites.

Producing massively cost-effective pig iron and steel for a local market that is forecasted to grow dramatically is exactly the reason why they CAN afford it canny! At any stage and at any pricing of ore/pig/steel this will comfortably beat any imported product. We need time to get there, so as Pelaries has pointed out, the granting of the DSO will give BAO and its investors some breathing space on the road to full production at Tete.

Thanks for highlighting this important element in the equation! Yet another reason why we are seriously undervalued by the market.

Very encouraging RNS if you read it in depth and make the natural conclusions, especially on the funding. I see it the same way tame - why would anyone want to sell at this stage and price, unless its for Xmas pressies?? What a naff post by empirical! Believe it or not feller, the regulars can't even contemplate following your silly advice at these prices as we are all showing losses of varying magnitude.

Whether short or medium term, am becoming immune to the pain. It is becoming a way of life here and with other junior miners. Even those fully funded with production imminent and offtake guaranteed are down for no discernible reason - so no surprise at yet another drop here with so many imponderables. Can't see the much-heralded PFS making a great deal of difference either - we need the global market in ore to stop nose-diving and some confidence from the announcement of a jv partner to turn us around.

Crack on trbw - you are doing the job that Standard Chartered are being paid a nice fee for!! Would not be surprised if you had more success either!

Will be in attendance tomorrow, and I read it as a positive that BAO are not there this year with too much happening within the company. The BAO story is already out there in the Mining investment community, so no need to continue with the trailing of a cloak! I think Trade has got it, and that we are going to hear something very positive before year end.

Strange little drop as you say, with Buys comfortably outweighing Sells on small volume today. No worries as I think we will kick on from here up to the DFS.

They were Dukey! All the 5k trades in the day were buys buy a syndicate I know - and the SP encouragingly held in the face of 2 very chunky sells which is always a good sign. Don't tell me we are turning the corner?

For what it is worth, I am on the same thought train as ski and major, who appears to have experience of similar scenarios and rightly lists the three main reasons why we are languishing so low. As for empirical, no-one recommends a strong sell at this level if they are properly invested - which he obviously is not. My own situation is awfully similar to mikeC, been here a long time now and cannot even contemplate a sell with my volume at this level. We all know this is down to a backer emerging post-DFS, and if there is an interested party in the wings - or more - the BOD cannot even whisper that fact. And before anyone talks of "oblivion" try and remember the resource of 750m tons of ore and its value, whatever the current price may be. GLA genuine investors in BAO.
