Bigwod doesn't need to have a crystal ball to expect some serious news at this week's AGM mambo. For all the reasons that I have no need to re-iterate, we have all suffered here for a long time, and the recent signals from a realistic and honest BOD have been optimistic and progressive. No interested JV partners?? Don't worry- they are out there, and this market wants to know the facts rather than rumour or leaks before an SP gets moved significantly. As you pointed out, dealing with the Chinese can be a testing experience, and any further dilution will not help. I am more in the Pigeons camp, as we know far more now than we did when we bought at 5 and 6 times the current price. Its no good looking back at the burning bridges, and whilst I am sorry that a long-termer like Pico has decided to throw in the towel, my own opinion is that he is doing that at the wrong time. You should attend the AGM and ask your questions to BJ and co. Mainly, we need to know how solid is the interest - and what is the time scale etc.?

Have no fears Red, I will be asking away until close of play. Have tackled them a few times already at Mines and Money and always got honest answers and a strong impression of competence. With my investment here as a very large percentage of total personal pot, my focus now borders on the obsessive!

As much as 4.9p was paid yesterday, so the wide spread makes you think twice about selling around a 4.0p Bid price. Personally, I'm not even thinking about it once!

This is all simmering rather significantly in the preamble to the AGM, with the additional funding required to manage the anticipated action with prospective investors and technical processes that are required to authenticate the DFS etc. Have not read the resolutions as yet, but would imagine that the required sum for working capital would be £1.5 million. All will be clarified at the AGM next Thursday which I will attend and ask some relevant questions - and be pleased to report back to the regulars on this board. No Bammo - don't give your shares away!! We touched 4.5p Bid today, and would have held this but for some faint hearts and mini-profit takers later on. After a very long period in the doldrums, we are livening up on planet Moz - and it is time for hardened Baoists to show some resolution. GLA!

John -Your focus upon all the environmental issues that pertain in China is certainly a vital one, and your final analysis of the likelihood of the eventual construction of a steel mill in Moz concurs with my own point - albeit for different reasons. Just makes it more compelling IMHO and another positive in these difficult times.

Excellent point john and well made one. With several new major cities under construction in mainland China seems even more relevant. Nice bit of interest brewing on trades today!

I am also glad that your post has a more optimistic flavour than the previous one! In a nutshell, the sp will finally move when one of the suitors (Chinese or Indian?) declares his solid interest in funding the BAO pig iron project in Tete. As is often mentioned, the final DFS will also help - but this is still only a document to itemise every aspect of the development for the benefit of said investor. It will happen - just a question of when - and I am basing a lot of my confidence on a personal visit to the country and Tete in particular some 5 years ago.

to see that you guys are reading the RNS and beginning to grasp the potential here. Was a bit staggered with Steeltrader's comment about forgetting Africa in terms of the future demand for steel in a country that is forecast to grow its economy by 7/8% annually for the foreseeable future. How do you do that in terms of construction and industry without steel - especially if it is produced locally at cost-effective prices?

With you all the way there so its "wham wham thank you Bam". Has to be a buying day for me at these prices, which have to be either at the very bottom or close to it. Biscuit tin and a touch on the ponies got me enough for 20k at 4.4p just now. A bit more impetus from the braves and the shrewdies and we could see this rise like a Yorkshire Pudding in the run-up to the AGM.

for having the gumption to get a positive response from BJ! On the strength of this post and the size of my investment will definitely make the effort to attend the AGM on Jan 29th. We have had our liveliest day's trading for a long time and best volume, and trying to read the pattern - the early 75k sells x 5 were almost certainly the same investor losing patience or needing the money. Also, there were two questionable "neutrals" which looked suspiciously like Buys to me at the prevailing prices and they added up to 255k, which puts a very different slant on the day's action. If I can get in at around 4.5p early tomorrow will change my Hold to a Buy for sure. I feel that the wind down Moz way is about to change direction as there are a few mining investors out there who are prepared to take a punt on a realistic outsider at these prices. If we listened to trbw we would all be in our "death throws", so I much prefer to wing it with pigeons at what might just be a pivotal moment for BAO.

Steeltrader - following your excellent and detailed post ref: pig and the global tour of all the main producers, one simplistic question comes to mind. As we are surrounded with a surplus of cheap coke and own a similar mountain of ore, production of pig for steel would surely be principally for a rapidly growing local and regional market. Whatever the world prices of all three might be, we would surely be the most competitive in this market? Would this not be the focus rather than the exporting of bulk ore? The wider picture for growth in this area of Africa tells me that the vital cog in this machine remains the funding of the pig iron project rather than the cyclical movement in prices.

Yes - the volumes have been extremely small either way for some time now, so holding a few would not represent big bucks at this level. The two 100k Buys this morning are a rare but promising occurrence!

Not naïve, a very good question. I had noticed the same trend, and the normal effect of continuing sells is to drop the price. I am strongly invested in a Tungsten mine - which has great prospects in the view of several brokers, but because of an apparently distressed seller, continues to drop against all the knowledgeable advice. With BAO, the daytrading type of investor can see no prospect of instant returns at this level, but IMO the MMs and brokers are happy to sit tight with shares for a longer term improvement in sp upon future positive news. Only my take on the current position.

No exact timing was given for a reaction to a "450 tonne bulk sample sent for rotary kiln reduction and EAF smelt pilot scale test" but JD did go on to say that he was "confident of a positive conclusion with one or two Chinese entities" with funding to follow. My technical limitations prevent an educated guess at the timescale here - but JD's stance is a notably bullish one this time.

Strongly agree with your hold - but unless you are talking about fresh funds for elsewhere, we mostly have high averages for BAO, so would hate to be out when this moves, as it could be dramatic. Also tests on the content of ore are soon to be conducted in China, and we have been regularly informed of the high quality in previous samples - so entitled to be optimistic of some action in conjunction with the completion of the DFS.

Understand your frustration and respect your decision - but what difference to BAO's prospects as a company does the RNS actually make? Have been in here even longer than yourself - but when this turns on positive news it will turn with a vengeance IMO. Wouldl hate to be out when that happens!
