Forgive my ignorance - I'm sure I read somewheere that Atalaya was gearing up to join the FTSE 250... Is this still on the cards? Any proposed timescales?

I foolishly read a Fool article earlier. It was the usual negative tripe about how amazing Royce's has done and how it's going to bomb in the future.... One "fact" stood out to me - They stated "But the biggest bear case against Rolls is simply fundamentals. With earnings forecast to decline by 50% in the coming year, the company’s price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio could double from 15.5 to 31"

Is this true? I've tried looking it up and all I could find is revenue is predicted to increase by 7% in 2024. Why the hit on earnings (profits??). Appologies if this is a truly thick question - it's just not something I'd come across before. We tend to wrap ourselves in a blanket of good news on here - is this a commonly known fact which I have missed?

Just out of interest how do you know this isn't a) part of her salary, b) a bonus or c) some sort of management share purchase scheme?? (I'm not trying to be Ar5y just genuinely interested).

Thanks Toffers. I was unaware of the details of the process (or rather assumed we would get results from the tender process in June - which obviously won't happen if we take thse timings on board).

Nice to see some positive movement... It seems to have been in a holding pattern of late....

To put this into perspective a 6% increase would add £2.3Bn to the market cap... Does that sound about right??

Assuming Rishi gets his finger out and announces RR as one of the "winners" of the SMR contract (I know this is just the first hurdle in a ridiculously long process....) what effect will this have on the SP?? I'm guessing we could have a 6% lift. As it's only the first stage I don't envisage anything too bonkers, however it would be very positive news in a somewhat barren news cycle.....So based on todays price of 448 we could get a rise to 475.

It's a paid for / budgeted policy whichh is supposed to move forward in June. I don't see why they have to delay any announcement due to theh election. Purdah is supposed to stop Governments bribing the electorate with fanciful giveaways in thhe run up to the election - as this is an already stated policy I don't see it being affacted - TThe Tories would be mad not to announce RR as a winner.

I may, of course, be totally wrong but I don't see why Government policies which are budgeted and already planned for should stop just because of some pesky election.... :-)

If the consensus price target is only 457 we need some upgrades don't we? Isn't the price target where they think RR will be in 12 months?

Agree with that. Divi's aren't a priority for me or many other shareholders - the reason people invest in a company like RR (especially in the situation it's in at the moment) is for SP growth not Divi earnings. Tufan will have his accountants head on and will want to pay off debt as a priority. Having the divi's in your back pocket to boost the SP is a useful tool to have. Plenty of SP growth ahead without Divi's. However they have passed all their tests / hurdles - so theoretically divi's could be re-instated at any time.

No reason not to reinstate divis. I wouldn't expect them to be too generous. When it was muted a while back I think the figures flying around equated to less than 1%.

What's with the price jump? after getting used to RR's share price increasing day on day, week on week, I'd now become accustomed to the SP yo-yoing and being pretty stagnant. This seems quite a break-out. Not complaining but is there any particular reason for the price jump?

Why would Starmer reverse it? SMR is in the Labour manifesto. The only thing labour "might" do is scale back the SMR roll out (as they have very ambitious plans wrt solar and wind). However the point remains SMR IS IN THE LABOUR MANIFESTO. Also, I know what the polls say and everyone is assuming Labour are a shoe in..... what will people actually vote for in July?? We have a couple of months of Tory Smear campaigns to get through before the election and Labour are well versed in shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to the crunch....

ETF - From what NTC understood from the CMD divi's will come once certain milestones have been reached (which they now have). Buy backs are further down the line. I presume Divi's will be announced August. Obviously they're continuing to pay off their debt which may take priority over buy backs. So long as Macro factors continue to be stable RR (and its SP) have some good times ahead. Some say it'll reach £7 by Feb 2025.......

With a closing price of 440.4, NotZero @ 444 was the best guess. Honorable mentions go to RonR @ 434 and Reappyr @ 445 and Iainuser @ 435.

Well done NotZero. Our average guess was 462.5 so we were (on average) 5% out from where RR ended up. In our defence most people took their guesses 2 or 3 weeks back. Still a reasonable day at the office IMHO. :-)

This was voted on (and passed) at last years AGM aswell - It doesn't mean they will - it just means they can.
