I presumed this was the deal with Turkey for engines and to investigate opening facilities in Turkey (" signing of a joint statement to explore maintenance and supply chain services related to the engine"). Unless it's still "up his sleeve"?

There are opinions and then there are facts. NTC watched the whole CMD which stated divi's will be issued when certain milestones are hit (which have now been hit) whereas buybacks will happen at a later point. Whether you like this approach or not the company has stated their position regarding divi's and buybacks. As for debt, it will continue to be paid off gradually as and when it is possible to do so. Anyways I'm speculating with regards to timing - I'm sure divi's will be mentioned at the AGM - whether they will be re-instated or scheduled to be re-instated will become clear soon.....

I wouldn't expect to see Dividends announced in a trading update..... Will they be announced at the AGM? Before anyone starts lecturing me about debt and buybacks I'm not suggesting the reintroduction of Divi's now is a good thing (or a bad thing) - I think it would give the SP a nudge in the right direction though. NTC has stated on numerous occaisions that Divi's are part of the plan once certain goals have been achieved. These goals have been achieved. Re-introducing divi's (whether it be the "right" move or not) would seem to be a logical next step.

Not necessarily ETF - I don't see that decision as overtly political and it's a policy that is planned and costed for. I personally don't see how Purdah disrupts the process.... however I am no political expert so I stand to be corrected.

The question is... How much have analysts baked in "the SMR factor" into the SP?? Yes, Engines are the here and now bread and butter business of RR but the revenue and profit potential of SMR is MASSIVE. If SMR takes off RR could double or tripple in size - Yes, it's a long way off now but you'd think some of that potential is in the SP now. TODAYS profits are in aero engines but SMR has such potential for the future. It's a shame tomorrows news could be overshaddowed by analysts second guessing how the election may affect RR UK nuclear bid.

As I said in another thread 1) There's no reason for the selection process to stop (and the Tories would be mad not to give RR the lions share so they can brag aboutt it) and 2) SMR is in the Labour manifesto - Labour might tax the rich a bit more but they're not brain dead - Nuclear is an essential element of the country's growth. Whilst more wind turbines and solar panels would be a good thing they won't solve the energy problem on their own.

I agree Casualtrader - I don't see Purdah stopping the process - The process is already costed and accounted for and is apolitical - if the Tories had any sense they would ensure RR get the lions share of the contract so they can brag about how much they support British jobs etc, etc, etc...
