RE: How can we get out of this mess.19 Feb 2021 14:25
Graham. You're bang on the money.
If the licence expires or BPC don't fulfil their obligations on the acreage, the data reverts back to the Bahamas Ministry of Energy. This is standard practice across the sector. This is why BPC were able to analyse cuttings and data from the previous failed drills and then lay that against there own 3D seismic.
It is somewhat amusing to see the same arguments/conjecture happening here as they were at Sound Energy (Morocco). As above, Sound Energy (SOU) inherited / was passed on the seismic data accumulated by previous exploration companies. They hit the jackpot with the 'horst' (drills TE-5, TE-6 and TE-7) which saw the share price hit £1. FYI the shareprice is now just a smidge over 1p.
It was an exciting time. Comms was second to none and share holders were drowning in videos and webcams https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE46N43vqv21OrEii1kNk5A/videos.
They were not shy about drill site visits either ( I went to a couple) or roadshows (One was at the Shard) and the CEO was always directly replying to e-mails; day or night.
We had Schlumberger on our side and we also struck up a relations with Rothchild to 'market/flog the business. Prior to this apparent 'marketing strategy', we obtained Aerial and Vibe truck seismic. They identified the key plays on the license and decided upon a 3 drill campaign TE-9 and TE-10 were dusters and they did not dare drill TE-11
Here is the polishing of the t*rd at TE-9. You will be familiar with here ...

"Interpretation of the wireline logs has not established the presence of producible gas, and hence the well will be plugged and abandoned, and not tested.".....
"the Company believes is further evidence of a working petroleum system"
Oh and another duster at TE-10...
"Sound Energy, the Moroccan focused upstream gas company, reports that the previously announced TE-10 gas discovery at Tendrara in Eastern Morocco, although having flowed hydrocarbon gas to surface, has not achieved commercial flow rates following the stimulated well test undertaken with Sound Energy's partner, Schlumberger. "

We to had comparisons to historic commercial gas/oil plays form around the world. In our case Algeria. We also had the talk 'Majors looking over the fence' at our acreage. There was a direct link to Shell. All nonsense as nothing has materialised in over two years with the company in frankly dire straits.
I would show you the video where the exploration director categorically states at the Ipswich investor that there is no value in the Seismic, but the BoD, who all slopped away from the best thing to hit Morocco wiped all the canny marketing they had deployed.
I would be extremely careful of what Potter says as all these BoDs sing from the same hymn sheet. J
