I think the issue here is Chinese whispers.
Rockhopper have confirmed that Sam Moody was on the islands last week with Navitas, so I’m sure there would have been meetings with both FIG representatives and either locals or local businesses.
I’m happy to accept, therefore, that a meeting took place. The issue we have is that although Garbled might have received an overview from somebody who was there, and he might know when and where it took place, he was not at the meeting itself.
We don’t know for sure, therefore, how accurate the report was because we don’t have somebody with first-hand knowledge of it. We don’t know the motivation of the person who sent it, whether they are a RKH shareholder, their attention to detail and whether they are easily excited or not!
I think it’s fine to appreciate the information being posted but also question the detail and veracity of it. That’s not being ungrateful to Garbled, who does himself have a history of posting all sorts of cryptic nonsense in the past. I think the account he’s provided is genuine, but we just don’t know who it’s from and how many people it’s been passed through before reaching this board.
It sounds very positive and it’s great to hear that Navitas are bullish (although not a real surprise), and it’s a nice talking point during an absence of news but I think we need an official RNS before we can take any of it for granted.
