I did post yesterday that this case was a win for Slovenia and thought it best to reiterate it again today when the wrong end of the stick continued to be picked up!! I'm all for a bit of optimism but not on mis-interpreted examples :-) !! I guess at least it shows their familiar with arbitration - and a bit of cash now too to possibly pay Ascent ;-)!
Bottomzup - congratulations on your gains. I’m nearer 15 minutes experience than 15 years ;-) !! but it’s always nice to see success. I bought in at 22p so not in your league but happy enough! I just need the nerve to top up without worrying it’ll all come crashing down if I do !!
Tango - yes there could undoubtedly be conversations still ongoing behind the scenes. But a statement of intent and a timescale for initiation of proceedings wouldn’t prejudice that but would shore up a bit of confidence which would in turn help the sp and also send a message to Slovenia.
Max - to be fair though he does have a point. The outcome last week was presumably scenario planned by the board so you would expect an update on forthcoming strategy in the very near future. Dithering on it won’t achieve much
Zoom - i've just at a look at the Sound Energy bb - it's almost a mirror image of here - bitter ex-holders v optimists - the former being their description not mine ;-) !! The only difference looks like a few less p on the sp!!
Brooko - I have to agree with your sentiment! There are numerous examples of successful AIM companies that when you look back were getting mullered by their holders for years on these message boards - until they hit it big!!
Alwaysup - the same could be said of people who come at it from the other end of the spectrum. Self-interested is the motivating factor of everyone one on here. There may well be those who wish to crash the price further and buy in cheap. ive not been around here long but i assume that these same type of exchanges have been going on for a long time and presumably when the sp was back at 2p. I'm not cheerleading the company - I was hoping that I'd have made some money by 19th and been gone. But I do know the legal world and I understand how arbitration works. Govts caving in and/or tiny companies is an irrelevance on either side of the equation. International courts of arbitration exist for this exact purpose i.e. so that tiny companies don't get screwed by national govts. And Treaties are signed for the same reason. And financiers do back strong legal cases if there is financial incentive. To me it all depends on the strength of the case and the will to proceed with it. If either of those are found to be lacking then I will concede that you were right and my money is lost.
Arbitration proceedings have strict timetables and if you fail to adhere to them you risk losing by default. And if there is a strong case and genuinely 100m euros in play then I'm sure that backers will be found to sustain it. There does need to be the will to initiate proceedings though. Anyway, I doubt anyone on here has any genuine insight into what's going on or what if anything is happening in the background. But the legalities of arbitration are what they are whatever either party wishes.
Kashdog - I appreciate your point. But that then falls back on the strength of the case and the legal opinion on it. Someone will fund it if there is a high likelihood of success based on said legal opinion. Aside from all the noise around the trustworthiness of the board and what is and isn't owned, that is how these things work. People make money on the back of funding the legal actions of others. At a cost obviously. And Slovenia would be bound by Treaty to pay a successful claim unless they wished to be sanctioned by being in breach of Treaty. Why wouldn't they decline the claim at this stage - it's costing them nothing to do so - yet.
I was wondering about Tango myself - possibly drowning his sorrows or maybe celebration who knows ;-) !!!! I agree with you that if the claim has a sound legal basis it will be seen through. That’s irrespective of what you think of the board past or present. Someone will fund it if it has a high chance of success. And whatever you think of Slovenia it’s nonsense to think that they would breach international treaties for the sake of 100m Euros or less should the claim succeed.
I was thinking over the weekend that this would settle back at about 5/6p - roughly where it was before the potential March settlement was announced. The money that was chasing that has presumably now gone. If it falls below 5p I’ll buy more on the basis that there will be another bounce and I can average down having bought in at 9p.
